| Less than 24hr to throw in and no sign of a team being named.
Ryan must be on the phone trying to gather 15 together is he? |

| Think after a close enough first half we win this by seven or eight pulling up. That's coming from someone who thinks we can't get any lower! | |

That's clever Tommy - I know the way your mind thinks though! That way, there's no way you can compliment them and you can absolutely go off the deep end altogether if it goes wrong... you're a genius really!!

To be fair, it should be a no-win situation, the same way it was for Dublin last weekend. We are a far superior team playing a really, really dire side who are missing their one good player. Any sort of decent set-up, mindset, performance and rebound will see us walk this, that shouldn't be a cause for celebration, just as things should be and the very minimum you'd expect. We're both Division Three next year yes, but this year we are playing a team that have been scraping the barrell, far more than ourselves. We existed in different worlds in 2015 despite out efforts, that should be reflected.

| More worried as the game nears. Being down four backs shows how shallow the squad is. An Offaly-Kildare championship match is no place to make your first competitive start and we might be putting two lads in that position. Offaly's forwards are their strong point and I can see them sticking two or three goals. | |

And McNamee is a genius. Their defence is brutal of course... Fingers crossed.

| Well if that's true he shouldn't be the only one dropped because I was in Johnson last Sunday night and Podge wasn't the only one having a few pints. So i don't think that rumour is true . (Podge wasn't in Johnsons btw) | |

Good luck to the rest of the team today Players leaving for states. Others boozing mid championship season. Only thing that differentiates us from Laois at this moment in time is we are still in championship. JR Quinn and Hendy are dead men walking. Stumbling even. Having absolutely changed the landscape and mindset in Kildare GAA in less than 2 seasons. It's quite unbelievable. I get the vibe that no one actually gives a bollix anymore. |

| Its all set up for an Offaly win. They are a lot better than the post above makes out. Thave mimentum this year following promotion and a big win in Waterford. Two weeks preparing for this game at home to their troubled neighbours. Players like McNamee and Anton Sullivan if fit would make amy team in Ireland. | |

| Lads im saying this in a nice way. My club play a few games against clubs in Offaly each year they're poor if we can't beat them then the players will have a lot to answer for as well as management we should have more than enough to beat them. All the posts so far this week have really being very negative after the Dublin game and lets be honest we all new what was going to happen but this is a really poor Offaly team and if the players have any ambition left in them self they should be only thinking of kicking the fcuk out of them. | |

Ryan must be on the phone trying to gather 15 together is he? Tom Cross is in at Corner Back.. In fairness Stevie Rhode are a decent side, and the backbone of that Offaly Team. Speaking to a few Biffos during the Week, they are very confident.. no doubts roared on by the Anointed One in the stand ( Cowan ).

The only flaw in that logic is that Offaly are - let's be honest - awful. We need to snap out of this attitude of thinking copper is gold just because we're facing it. Not talking overconfidence but let's not pretend we are facing giants, let's realise if we play well we are far superior to the likes of Offaly who aren't going anywhere and haven't been forĀ a long time. In saying that, lucky to get out of it which says more about us. Ryan done a favour by Chalky black card early with Moolick providing important presence, Smith sounded like he had a good game, Cribbin sounded like he worked hard as always, Bolton sounded like he led and that was enough. Still loads of misses, loads of headless passing, loads of silly frees, loads of missed tackles with forwards going by the first man at ease. And still a late goal conceded when nothing learned from Tyrone and Down league defeats. An okay effort from a team that across most of the field are devoid of football brains and a line that's even more devoid. Less hopeful of next round after that as Fermanagh and Roscommon/Cavan are a superior team to Offaly and Clare/Longford wouldn't be fearful. Also, another few days now for cracks to appear in set-up, all is not well with lads leaving and lads drinking and lads not committing to this project and not sure scraping a win against crap opposition will set anything right. Anyway, not much more to say on it. A win as expected which is good, but a performance that is starting to be expected which isn't so good.

| Well done to the lads on the win. It wasn't convincing and a lot of our old problems showed up again but at least we're still in the championship. | |

| Just in the door from Tullamore, some good and some bad however I must say I thought Emmet Bolton was superb, the difference between winning and losing in both defence and attack. Others to stand out, Lyons, Cribbin, O'Flaherty and Smith. | |

| Eoin Doyle gave one of the best performances I've seen from a Kildare player today. Him and Bolton dragged us through by force of will alone. It was a dogfight between two mediocre teams and that pair made sure we won it. | |

| It wasn't pretty but in the circumstances a win was the important thing, probably our worst performance of the season apart from 10 mins either side of half time, but a bit of character from some players and a bit of extra class saw us through, Ciaran Fitzpatrick was outstanding throughout as was Bolton, OFlaherty and Eoin Doyle, those lads showed what the Kildare jersey means to them. | |
