Colgan is a good ref when he refs impartially..if he has a set against you forget about it..only ref I have ever seen high fiving players from a team ( moorefield) after a contentious game.

Well said KE . Very good ref but not when moores are playing .

Why does Cawley stay upfield 60/70 metres from the play. He did this continually when Monasterevin were attempting to work out from the back which allowed Leixlip to pull & push, obstruct and block with impunity...…….   Near the end when Leixlip had a spell of pressure ( and fiddled around and lost possession) an out ball to Nash around the 65 on the stand side saw Nash flattened and not given a free...…………  If the result was different this incident would be a major talking point.

A few lads, on both teams, got a rough going over in contact, with slaps to the head and no free.....  I would rate the ref just ahead of Leixlip  which is not very high a 3 or 4 at best...………...

Cawley did ok yesterday. It was an easy game for him to ref.Nothing controversial at all during the game.

Don't think anyone in Leixlip will be looking at Cawley as the reason they lost, they didn't test Monasterevin much in the forward line and played too much across the field and tried to get everything through Tommy Moolick who wasn't a stand out player on the day.... they probably suffered because of the format of the championship and the teams they played twice where Monasterevin had harder games with Kilcock and Clougherinkoe who will be knocking on the door again next year with TMH so based on Sundays performance Leixlip could be looking down the intermediate championship for another few years

I’m a Monasterevan man myself, over the moon to be back to senior, we didn’t perform overly well Sunday which makes it all the sweeter. Undeniably there is work to be done to stay senior and we’ll do everything possible to insure that going forward. In terms of intermediate, it’s a serious standard of football, hopefully we can go on and represent that standard in Leinster to the best of our abilities. For me the next team to win it is Kilcock. Very well structured with some great individuals.

Truth is a painful lesson...………..

Cawley's influence probably saved Leixlip from a bigger beating but even from a former Leixlip player that is not a defence for him.

If he wanted to influence ref why did nt he just text him. Sure he has his number from all them inhouse games.
The more i think about it the more i think this could be a torrid game . Definitely backing the draw.
Bit worrying none of our county lads exactly lit up the championship. Even our messiah from jtb was very poor .hopefully one of our county lads make a difference on sunday. Nash from monasterevin has been the best player ive seen this year and conway before he came up against someone decent.

Looks like Ross and Moorefield have won already according to this Sash Supporter...
typical blaming the Ref before the game even starts.Moorefield probably should be going for 5 in a row if it wasn't for the worst refereeing decision I have ever seen in awarding a penalty for nothing in all my 60 years looking at Couny Finals in Kildare.But i didn't hear Moorefield complain. No they just got on with it and fair play to them. It should be a close game but i think Moorefields experience in winning will be the deciding factor.

Lets hope it a cracker who ever wins as we need something for the rest of us in the county to enjoy as it seems its never ending between these two

That is true. X ray eyes on barry to see that peno not a sash supporter but hope its a good game . Helluva lot at stake so can see it being very edgey .

I am far removed from the current Leixlip set-up but the few I spoke to leaving the game and since was that Leixlip are just not good enough... and were well and deservedly beaten by a much better Monasterevin...……

The hand-passing around in circles between the 65 & 45 lines was frustrating but its what they did all year but this time Monasterevin help position and did not allow lads to get free inside, not that many were making any much runs in there...………...

Colgan was unsympathic to forwards so Nash especially could have been awarded a few more frees which would have made the margin bigger...…….

He was shocking! Blowing for silly things & letting fouls go. Pressure got to him imo. Moores were very bad & sash kicked alot of wides.

Thought ref was v good. Great game.

Ref was very good in fairness to him. Great game .our county players were poor again. Worrying

Thought ref was very good overall. Got a couple of calls wrong imo but was consistent at least. Let the game flow which in a derby is not easy as its always going to be physical. The way some were talking on this forum during the week Sarsfields shouldn't have even bothered turning up

I thought the ref had a good game. If you brought the ball into contact and didn’t release it he gave a free every time. He was consistent and that’s all you can ask.

I thought Sarsfields were the better team for most of the match and would have won if their finishing was a bit better. They won most of the breaks at midfield when the ball wasn’t won by Aaron Masterson. The 2 goals Moorefield got which were excellently worked kept them in it. Great equalising point at the end by Barry Coffey.

Very enjoyable game. Roll on the replay.

Think the moores keeper is an accident waiting to happen. Replay should be good
