I know how he feels as a lifelong Kildare supporter, heading to croke park in the seventies with great expectations only to be slaughtered by the dubs, 97 against Meath, Buckley in his prime ruling the field when we were at our peak and then losing the third replay, 98 and the second half against Galway, Padraig Nolan giving us hope as I watched Kildare win the O Byrne cup on a frosty day in Longford, knowing that we have always had the talent in the county and its been proven now with Micko and McGeeney that a man from outside the county without preconceptions or club loyalties can find the best players and now the hope rises again with the best team we have had in years and I have a feeling in my soul that we will be singing the Curragh of Kildare from one end of the county to the other come the end of september.
