Strangely I am getting more confident about this game as match day nears. Usually the other way around for me ........

Wll jj, the way I see it looking at this Kildare team & without taking into consideration the commitment from all the boys, management, players, backroom team etc; if they play to their full potential, they can beet any team in the country!! so if the do 'play to their full potential' you should have reason to be confident.. Fingers crossed...

ah jaysus lads, we are kildare - we dont usually do confidence. The more im reading comments on here the less confident i get! I actually get great satisfaction reading less encouraging comments than i do the ones bout "we have the players/management/head for the job etc"

I prefer the snake in the long grass approach, sure was that where the old crest came from??

Of course you have to have confidence in your team. Its not a David and Goliath battle, it won't come down to wheather its a wet day or a dry day. It comes down to mentality, who wants it most, who is gonna fight to the end. I believe we have the edge there

As I keep saying confidence is no harm and in most cases necessary to win games.

Its when you over look the opposition and underscore them that the problems start to arise. I can pretty much guarantee that the Kildare camp learnt their lesson a few months back in Navan.

rob Kelly has emerged as a late contender to play a part in Kildare’s All-Ireland semi-final against Down at the weekend and is a “live option” for the Lilywhites.
The powerful Straffan man has made a full recovery from the knee ligament injury that has troubled him all year. The problem required two operations and has ruled him out of the latter end of the league and the entire championship to date.
A former county minor and U21, Kelly made a significant impact as a regular scoring midfield substitute during Kildare’s run to the Leinster final and All-Ireland quarter-final.
He picked up the initial injury in training last January but that didn’t stop him beginning the O’Byrne Cup with two high-scoring displays from the half-forward line.
After a routine operation though, he struggled to recapture that standard and another scan in May revealed that the extent of the damage was significantly worse than the initial prognosis.
He went under the knife again

any idea how many fans we wil bring in I wouls think we would bring between 35-40k ?Down will bring about 15-20k I know Armagh will bring down a good crowd to support us hopefully there will be about 65+k at it want do you think?

Aidan O'Rourke banned from sideline according to today's Irish News, also says Fitzpatrick in for Rogers is most likely option.

If that's true it could have a major bearing. Wasn't it O'Rourke that decided that Foley was the best man to mark Joe Sheridan.

Will he be allowed to have contact with Geezer and Niall ? Or does that type of ban just apply to the foreign game ?

He will be able to contact geezer during game. May be no harm having a man in the stand. Sometimes you can see things alot better than at pitch level

Just read this post on the Kerry Forum:

"Dermot Earley will play some part on Sunday, he may even start. Talking to one of the lads on the panel yesterday and he told me they had a game on Sunday at the same time as Dublin v Cork. Mc Geeney told them they were playing for their places next weekend and apparently there was skin and hair flying."

As always with Geezer the lads in doing the business in training will start, I bet that match was pretty high octane stuff.

I would say we will bring around 30 k and down will bring the same probably a bit more than us
