very bad performance. Theres a lot of Questions that need answering. Poor play within the forwards poor passing also toomuch room left for the laois forwards to run.
they 'd want to improve seriously. A lot of mistakes made tonight.

I'm really beginning to worry now, we do not seem to be making any progress from 1 match to the next. Surely at this stage it would not be unreasonable to expect to see some improvement. A lot of work and soul searching to be done between now and the 1st round of the championship. Thank God we still have 2 months to go.

Agree with the comments. Laois tore through us and should have won by a lot more, if they'd taken a higher proportion of chances. We were cleaned out at midfield again, and the full back line was very weak; Bolton a liability with McGrillen unable for Kingston's strength. Forward line is struggling badly for form with every scoring chance being laboured. Very hard even to pick a man of the match for Kildare but maybe Flood gets it for a good recovery after Westmeath. Laois weren't brilliant themselves but were well up for it and had fine midfield performances from Quigley and Meaney.

Hopefully this is a case of "it's only the league" and there'll be a miraculous recovery come June 5th but right now a date with Louth in Navan is not something to warm the cockles, even if Louth haven't been pulling in trees in Division 3. They always seem to have a hoodoo over us in the c'ship.

Ratings:

Flood 7 (good double save in first half, better kick outs)
White 6
McGrillen 5
Bolton 4 (how many frees does he have to give away before he's dropped ?)
Flaherty 6
Flanagan 6
Scanlon 6
Sweeney 6
Earley 6 (should have seen the line, hope there were no videos. Hope also his injury is not too bad)
Kelly 5
Doyle 6
Whyte 5 (why is he taking 45's still instead of Johnny ?)
Kavanagh 6
Donnelly 5
Callaghan 6
Subs : Flynn 6, Heffernan 6, O'Neill 6

End of the day it's still only March and despite everything we're still in Division 2. Hearing team management or players talk did anyone hear an objective of winning promotion ??

Did hear mention however, of winning a Leinster and even more than that from Manager and a couple of the senior players !!

Think we'll see something different in a few weeks. In the meantime this team will be training hard for some serious football.

I am holding out that hope also White hope ( appropriate user name ! ). I do however find it hard to believe that the team will enter the championship with the same confidence and fluency as last year. Of course you wouldn't have heard the team or management talking about promotion but that's normal. I am sure though they felt they would have a good chance given last year's performances and I sincerely doubt either management or players are satisfied with their form so far. One good thing though : there should be little or no hype surrounding this team as we enter the championship.
