Vodafone I say most of us here have a parent/parents who are blow ins, however we have integrated into the community and dont go around mouthing off all the time. However stop getting this notion that the blowins from Dublin are improving the standard of football in Kildare sure you have a population of over 1.2m and cant buy an All Ireland yourselves.

I would not know we dont really go outside the county to buy one, but i am sure i could ask mick dwyer how much he got when kildare tried twice to buy one more all ireland in the last 83 yrs and i am sure the current incumbant is on a pretty price too , i agree we all have some H57 in our DNA , some more than others, name the 4 to 5 players with crokes more like 3 longford wexford wicklow , and from my experience outsiders in my club in kildare are not accepted , although they have a habit of buying inter county players to win county champs in the past

Hurling in Kildare is overshaowed by Football
Rubbish ,just goes to show what you know about hurling in kildare ,at underage level its one of the top in leinster
, Horse racing and Rugby, its a problem and will take years to rectify, if ever.[/qu

a population of over 1.2m. most of them to be fair are blow ins to dublin who cant get work in there native counties. kildare probabaly being one of them. just look at kilmacud crokes winning leinster with 4 or 5 lads from other counties. we have got 3 or 4 lads come into our club in the past few years and to me they have improved our panel and made competition for places that bit harder,.

If you know your history Vodacrap you d know that the all Dublin team that won their all irelands from 1891 t0 1923 had more non dublin players than real dubs including our own Larry Stanley.

1923: J. McDonnell, J. Reilly, P. McDonnell, J. Murphy, J. Norris, J. Synnott, P. Carey, P. Kirwan, J. Stynes, F. Burke, J. Synnott, M. Shanahan, J. Sherlock, P. O’Beirne, L. Stanley

No county has gone outside their own boundaries more than dublin to win an all ireland you could say, however all these guys were working and in Dublin (transport system not as good in those days) just like Lacey, O Dwyer and Murphy were in Kildare. We have also provided Fahy and Tompkins to Cork so think we are about even.

Football is the main game in Kidlare, hurling is some what back if you dont know that then you are in denial. Sure there was only something like 4 teams in the A U21 Championship. And I am a big fan of hurling BTW.

That is bull - my club is full of Kerrymen, Corkmen, Biffos and even the odd dub, no one is made feel unwelcome apart from the mouthy ones Very Happy

think only 3 clubs fielded in the u21 hurling c/ship. coill dubh couldnt field a team yet clane won the b c/ship by about 25 pts. great structure. (if you were from clane) Hurling in county is a joke to be honest.

So you are saying this Dub won his 1ST medal with Dublin , then won subquential medals with Kildare , hhhhmm , i see he made sure he got one anyway the rest were a bonus , A bit like Larry and Shay in Cork , the only differance they didnt come back

Underage hurling might be a tad stronger in one or two spots but you dont see kids going around Newbridge, Kildare, Athy with hurling sticks unfortunately.

As for hairdressing, sure im bald as an eagle no use for me.

Its a pity , hurling should be encouraged more, it has untold benefits surprising for footballers hand eye co-ordination , if you look a dual players around the country they are exceptional in this regard , for both hurling and football , and any club in the county (kildare) that promote both have surprising good players , i cant see why hurling itself can be used as a tool to encourage players , so what if standard will be natural be poor, i spoke to a few lads in "hawkfield" the other night they told me there minor team only get one game a year , but train regularly , they say that there lads have benefited so much they are exceptional players at football.

I be fine ! thanks for the concern , and to be honest i can view alot of all irelands involving dublin on line ,but i am finding it particularly hard to find kildare ones although , whatever that means

Hard to look past the stat of 30 out of the last 31 games they have had have been in Croke Park. It's an advantage no matter what anyone says.

It's all a vicious circle now with them. Because they are playing in Croker weekly, sponsors are willing to put extra money into their coffers, which means they will want to play even more games there. I don't think vodafone would be happy seeing them in Parnell park every week.

Even if you take out the playing advantage, the monetary advantage over other Counties must be huge.

If Dublin get Croke Park as their home venue for the league then it should count as "home" for them in the championship too. Then they shouldn't get to play any matches there that are meant to be in neutral venues. I know most likely they won't have to play a championship match outside of Croke Park (unless they're in the backdoor) but it's not fair on other counties.
