The Kildare Senior Footballers have teamed up with St. Vincent de Paul to hold a Christmas Toy Appeal in the Kildare GAA Shop, The Avenue, Whitewater Shopping Centre, Newbridge this Saturday, December 17th from 3pm to 6pm. Many of the players have been fortunate enough to fulfil some of their childhood dreams by representing Kildare and playing in Croke Park on some great occasions, but they are well aware that there are many children out there who are much less fortunate and whose Christmas could literally be made a memorable one with the receipt of a small toy. The footballers were anxious to give something back to the county and saw this as the ideal opportunity. St. Vincent de Paul were naturally delighted to welcome them onboard and have the support of such a high profile group.
The players and management will each donate a new toy to the appeal, but they hope that the public will follow their example and support the great work being done throughout the county by St. Vincent de Paul, as they strive to ensure a pleasurable Christmas for those that are less well off. The players will do a meet and greet session with their supporters during the three hour period, so we are encouraging parents and children alike to drop in and make this a really worthwhile venture.
