| As I suspected. Your full of it.
I've no problem with anyone saying lads aren't getting a chance, back this up with who you think is worth a shot.. But you won't so your opinion is not worth a stockings.
I admit yes I'm a McGeeney fan, but he has his flaws.

Full of it? Says your man. I named someone who's worth a shot if you'd care to look up. I couldn't be arsed naming anyone else as I know my opinion doesn't matter a flying you know what.

| The team will not be too far different from last year. Conway will start. | |

| Give it a rest. Management will have looked at him an the other junior players all last year. He played plenty for the juniors and some games in the OB cup. As was mentioned here recently, David Whyte handed him his arse on a plate the last time they met. Face the facts, he is not good enough to play senior for Kildare. How can management be blamed for him not being good enough?
With regard to Conway, I think he's running out of time, rapidly!

| BtoA I really can't wait for Conway to hit form and prove you wrong, but it will take time, you can't underestimate the impact that such a long spell on the sidelines has on someone | |

| If I'm wrong, I'm wrong and will admit so. But the same traits are evident in Conway today that were there in 09. He will not track his player, he cannot tackle. He rarely wins his own ball and opposing players regularly run past him at will. Yes he is capable of passing and of taking the occasional score but the other deficiencies badly expose the team on occasion.
People on here questioned Sean Johnsons credibility and ability to play for us because of his lack of work ethic. Is that only relevant because he's not from Kildare?

| Conway will start unless of injury he has started all the games so far this year and I cant see that changing anytime soon. He is playing a bit hot & cold at the moment but he worth a couple of scores and that is always welcome in Kildare | |

| yea for me at the moment conway doesnt start really needs to up the work rate i`d like to see him track a few runs rather than going for the killer hit or tackle and then hes getting side stepped and left in no mans land, the best he played this year was for about 20 mins in first half of the meath game when him and jd were working across the 45 together and getting alot of ball and supplying the inside line.
any word on lynch or earley they must be 3 weeks back in full training now surely must be getting near game time even just for 10-15,mins?

| Bta yet again having a pop at players who put there life on hold , train 5/6 days a week , and are outstanding athletes and men. Please be a bit more positive about our team and players, I am sure you are very knowledgable about Kildare football , can you put this to some Positive use. You have a right to criticise a player if he does not perform , but please show some positivity towards a player when he has performed. | |

| If you read back to my post on the match last week you will see how I praised Eoghan Fla, JD, Lyons and any other player who played well. The problem in this county Athyman, is that people are too quick to bum a guy up & throw praise at him on the back of what? How many times over the last few years have we seen guys earn massive reputations at underage, get fast tracked to senior and fail miserably. Names like Glavin, Archibald, Lonergan x 2, Chalky, Fahy.....these are just a few!
A lot of th current U/21's were being bummed up this year by you and a few others. Reputation earned over a very short period of time and look what happened. Failed miserably - AGAIN Yes the manager has to take the lions share of the blame but at what point will these massive reputations/ego's deliver in a white jersey?
You are only as good as your last game!

smith is in there for now but im hoping eithe podge or dowling can make the step up or indeed smith finds the form we know he can produce and the likes of kavanagh conway rob kelly and vitally dermot to throw in are major boosts

You are only as good as your last game! Genuine people don't blow up the players reputations (or bum them up as you say.) It's the other element that creates it but it's the player that's ultimately responsible. They can be weak enough to believe the hype and let it effect their game. But how have those lads failed miserably... because they're not part of the panel? They're all class players in their own right and could well do a job for Kildare in the future. And just because Gary White's not the flavour of the week it doesn't mean he's disappeared.

| Fair enough Bta you are only as good as you're last game, but these young Kildare players have all been consistent performers , I accept that you should not blow lads up but if they have a good game then please acknowledge it. We need to get behind the young players go back to basics and bring in good specialist coaches especially for the forwards. Coaching has to be stepped up at underage level | |

| The point is Athyman, these current young crop HAVE NOT performed consistently but HAVE received the plaudits of guys who have.
There is no doubt that this current management will not suffer fools tho. I'm confident, as I always am, that when championship comes along the best in form players will be played

| Just watching iTalkSport, interesting chat about sacrifice of athletes and just a point in relation to a comment on this page and a comment that crops up all over the place regularly in relation to players. While admiring their dedication, must say I have to agree with Paul Kimmage and Malcolm O'Kelly. It's not sacrifice, rather it's an investment and it's also a choice. There is no gun to the head and they are doing it not for the fun of it, they are doing it in the hope there is a serious payback in terms of an All Ireland which sets you up for life. Anyway, just a sidenote on this conversation, in which I think certain abuse directed at Conway after coming back from two massive injuries is cruel, needless and simply wrong. | |

| Oh give me a fucking break TK. Are you telling me that a bad injury in an excuse for a player not to mark his player or work as hard as the other 15 on the team?
There are many who feel that some of the things you write are wrong & cruel. I guess people just have to deal with it!

| If it is not a personal agenda you have, which I'm not convinced about but will give benefit of doubt, then if you know sport in general, never mind Gaa, to be hammering a man for a handful of start of season appearances when he has been injured for two years is deluded. Maybe he won't be the footballer he was, maybe he will not make it with Kildare but to make judgment after January and February is madness. | |

| I dont know or want to know the guy, how can it be a vendetta? I am not writing the guy off. I never believed he was as good as people said in the first place. And I am not making a "judgement" I have pointed out points that a lot of others have said aswell. I asked you a question: Does his bad injury excuse his lack of work rate?
