GAA are on for funding from government to run the intercounty champ. So they have shafted the club player again to try and ensure champ goes ahead and they get their money.

What clubs have vacancies? Any changes or sackings since club Champ ended?

Here is the problem, the club championships are not finished yet, club players sacrificed once again.

So convenient, all club players now free to join their relevant county teams immediately.

I think the County Board needs to make a decision one way or the other now in relation to the remaining juvenile and minor competitions that are outstanding. At this stage the minor will not be completed until after the county minor team are finished and even at that the county would need to move to Level 2 for underage games to take place. Hard to see us moving to that level anytime soon. Its hard to expect teams to keep training away with pitches starting to come under pressure and indoor facilities not an option. I think everyone got some bit of football and hurling over the last few months which we didn't expect earlier in the year.

I think anything at underage semi final level and further should be finished. Leagues should be scrapped. Junior Championship should be finished too .

Maybe I am dreaming but Level 3 yesterday stated that club championships could be played behind 'closed doors' so I checked it and that was the case.
On the updated government Level 3 released last night it states only Senior club championship can be played behind 'closed doors'.
Maybe Croke Park can update all their members and also if they had direct input to any of this.
Meanwhile soccer and rugby continue on as per the guidelines. ??????

Club championship can be played behind closed doors at level 3
It’s after match gatherings they don’t want

My understanding is Level 3 only covers adult/senior level as they are classified as elite level. Thats why the club championship were finished out in Dublin during their level 3 lockdown over the last few weeks. It does not cover club underage. However inter county minor is classed as elite sport so they can proceed. Every sport can make their own decisions as to what is elite or not.

What happens if a county team comes down with covid cases? What happens then? It’ll mess up the championship. Seriously just cancel inter county for this year and finish out the club scene.

No chance of them cancelling, €20m from the government and the TV money to come, unlikely they will cancel.

I’d say it might be difficult now to resume club competitions this year for a number of reasons. The GAA won’t want anything spoiling the inter county season going ahead. In fairness, clubs need to take some blame for this. Clubs who have won championships have been filling up pubs with friends, family and supporters. No social distancing or adhering to the rules. Social media has been full of pictures and videos from these gatherings. I also know that clubs who have won championship matches, not finals, have had similar player gatherings in pubs. These gatherings are in poor taste given the seriousness of the current situation.

And this from the Dungarvan club who fielded a player in a final who was awaiting a test result for COVID 19. He later got a positive result back.
"Following a review of the club's handling of the recent case where a player tested positive for Covid-19 after the game was played, it has been identified that there were errors made by the club in the interpretation of the Covid-19 guidelines and the club wish to sincerely apologise for its mishandling of the situation... As a club, we wish to stress that the player involved was following the club's interpretation of the guidelines and advice at all times, did not attend any of the post-match celebrations, and was acting in good faith.
There should have been no post match celebrations 🧐

There'll be neither club nor county soon. Level five may not be there now but it will be by next October and won't be out the other side of that until April/May. Won't be crossing county borders during that, never mind national borders.

It was bad form from dungarvan but I would bet a lot of clubs would have took the chance also. Especially for a final. Not saying its right though.

On the day the Gaa announce what inter county games that 'Sky' will be showing from later on this month they inform all club that no clubs games will take place until further notice, but at least not for the next 2 weekends.
Also surprising to see the Gaa inform players that they can travel to their home county for training.?????
Same correspondence authorises inter county challenge matches, I know were Croke Park loyalties lie now.

All Kildare Gaa football and hurling leagues and pre season cup competitions for 2020 declared null and void and all remaining games cancelled.
They will try to finished out the remaining championships, if possible.
