Anyone have any predictions for group b? Is there a genuine belief that the sash could go out? Or will they get it done against maynooth. Can’t see athy beating naas don’t think naas have the mindset to look forward to another game they will want to win every game possible

Yeah Naas should beat Athy, they wont want to lose momentum and will want Sash out ,Sash have to beat Maynooth by 6 to stay in it if Naas win. Wont be easy but have feeling they will scrape thru.

Its very possible (even likely) that sarsfields go out.
If they beat Maynooth by 7+ they are through . Other than that, its difficult to see them getting through.
Barry Coffey is back which will be a big help but its a big ask to turnover maynooth by so much.
Serious group of death !! Whoever exits will feel very hard done by compared to the teams coming through group a or even the losers group
Group A is fairly straight forward, shoot out between Celbridge and Clane for top spot this week end. Both are through. Then a shoot out beween Cloghs and Carbury for third place and qualification
I think what lilysavage is most likely. Naas will want sash out and will want to put manners on athys championship notions by winning. That means mostly likely 3 teams on 2 points if sash win.. Then it comes down to points diff between those 3 teams only (not naas) ... Sash need to beat maynooth by 6 in that case i think.... Its all very close to call but its got ppl talking which is great !

So am I right in thinking that the current score difference in group B, leaving the Naas matches out, is as follows:
Maynooth = 6 Athy = 0 Sarsfieldss = -6
If Sarsfields win by 6 points and Athy lose what's the next criteria for deciding finishing places.
Personally I think Sarsfields and Athy will qualify in 2nd & 3rd place.

Its scoring difference between the three teams involved only followed by points scored i think versus the teams involved.
So in your case...
All three teams would be on nil in scoring difference versus each other.
Points scored would be
Athy 31 points scored Sarsfields 15 + xx Maynooth 16 + xx
So it depends on the final result in the Sarsfields maynooth game. So lets assume It finished Sarsfiedls 2.13 Maynooth 13 points
Then it would be Athy 31 Sarsfields 15 + 19 = 34 Maynooth 16 + 13 = 29.
Sarsfields and Athy would progress.
I guess the long and short of it is if Athy lose, Sarsfields win by 6 its very unlikely Maynooth will score enough to lose by 6 and still get over Athys total of 31..
Lot of permutations but think that is it

I think the "only" way Athy can be eliminated is if Maynooth lose by 6 but rack up 16+ points in doing so...
So Sarsfields 2.16 Maynooth 16 points (or 2.17 v 17 etc) would see Athy eliminated.
If Sarsfields win by 7 + its Sarsfields and Athy If Sarsfields win by 1+ to 5 its Athy and Maynooth
Athy would want to be seriously unlucky to miss out

Also, a 1-5 point win would do Sash if Athy get a win or draw.

Yes a draw or win for Athy v Naas means thats any win for sarsfields v maynooth will put them through

Was up in the Park again last night and caught Nurney V Straffan, Impressed for a second game in a row with Cathal Hagney from Nurney. Strong, Athletic and can kick a score, Glen could do worse than bring him in

Has anyone watched maynooth this year? Seem to have done well against naas and obviously beating athy from a division 2 is a big achievement. Will sarsfields win on Sunday or could we see them out in the group stages? Not sure where they are in terms of the odds would be interesting to know

Sarsfields are 10/1 with pp,very good value in my opinion.Unlucky in both games so far .They were all over Naas in the first half only to concede a soft goal at the end of the first half and conceded another soft goal early in the second half . They had 5 wides in a row including a simple 21m free .On another day Sarsfield could have won ..Sarsfields could be very good.Worth a tenner ?

Castlemitchell received a walk over from Ardclough. Ardclough only had 10 players.

Seems very unfair on Rheban who lost out to Ardclough by a point earlier in the week. They lost out on a tie v Castlemitchell based on being beating by a team who did'nt turn up for the next knockout round. Surely there has to be a sanction or some implications for such carry on. When is the CB or CCC actually going to tackle this issue with Ardclough. Making a mockery of the both the league and championship competitions with this carry on, year in , year out.

Leixlip didn’t win a match in the group so they can’t really complain but it shows how silly the system is when their prize for winning their preliminary match was a group with Allenwood, Castledermot and Sallins.
Had they lost, they could have been in Group D with Ballymore, Kilcullen and Suncroft. I know which group I’d rather be in.
