So what? One of the aims of the Gaa is to support our Irish identity and our language is an integral part of that identity. I would imagine promotion of the Irish language is part of their remit.

| Aye, Lighten up hawker. Go and join an Irish Language Forum, or Night School classes and come back and tell us how great you are, now you can speak the mother tongue, or maybe we should start discussing all things GAA in Gaelic now. | |

| # Easy lads
My other half gives English lessons to non-nationals in the Parish.
Was recently asked by a Slovac lady to teach her Irish and its going a bomb !!!
So having an Irish Officer might have some relevance after all.
How many of the nominees will actually stand ? Most withdraw before any vote.

| It's a good idea for the gaa to promote the Irish tongue but things like the team sheet only put people off , I seen a documentary about Tyrone football once and they were including Irish lessons as part of the cul camps . If the position is to be retained it should be meaningful | |

| Have none of ye ever heard of Scor. Promoting and running Scor I am sure is part and parcel of the Irish Officer's Role. I know the present Irish Officer has done a lot of work in trying get more clubs involved in Scor | |

| From what I hear there will be no one pull out of the officer elections at convention, all have been in contact with the club this past week looking for votes, don't recall this happening before, well not in recent times anyway. Will make convention interesting for a change | |
