| one is named tonight and the other is named the night of the Gala. I think Its football tonight and hurling on the night.
I dont think JD will get one. And with all due respect to Kelly and Bolton, he deserves one more than both. Through the years he has dragged us through games and prevented us from getting a hiding.

| I'm nearly certain the football was announced on the night last year so it'll be the hurling this time round. The football XV will be released released to the papers the day before.
I think Doyler will get one. The hacks that pick the All-Stars aren't half as thick as those muppets on the Sunday Game.

| The 5 lads well deserved their nominations, McGrillen, Flynnn and Morgan flats also deserved nominations imo. Also I think Callaghan should have been nominated for a forward position. Glad to see not everyone is taken in by cluxton and he didn't get nominated, the 5 meath goals probably put paid to that, Seamus Kenny is a strange one for me, the whole meath have forward line nominated? not sure about that, I thought John OBrien was excellent for louth and deserves his nomination, can't really argue with full forward nominations either,
Will Johnny get the nod ? He should do, the competition is tough though I think Bolton has a great chance of getting in along with McKernan and one other

| esb, Seamus Kenny was one of Meath's form players of the championship.... He was probably their best player against Kildare apart from the sending off.... Joe Sheridan scored about 5-11 in the championship.... Graham Reilly is in the running for the Young Player of the Year... So don't see much wrong with it....
Alan Quirke will get the keeper - for his service to Cork etc...
John O'Brien played wing-back for Louth, but is nominated in the full-back line, because there is nothing outstanding there. Therefore, I think he may get one, with Shields and Peter Kelly.
I have a feeling that Leper is going to get one, due to where he is nominated... He may have worn 15, but he did an awful lot of sweeper work around the middle... The half-back nominations are not strong either, so after two MOTM performances and Vodafone Award in July, I think he may have been put there for a reason.... I think that argument will mean, Bolton won't get one.... Kissane, McKernan and Callaghan here...
On the basis of dominating midfield last week, Aidan Walsh will get one and don't be surprised if John Galvin or Paddy Keenan is with him....
Johnny worn 13, Jimers wore 10, but both interchanged a lot.... I think JD will get one with Danny Hughes and Marty Clarke. Although after the Final performance, I would pick Hughes over Clarke and Graham Reilly might get in. But, JD has to get one or there is no justice....
Goulding, Brogan, ??????? Donnacha O'Connor resurrects his season to drag Cork through in the 2nd half of the All-Ireland.... Donie Shine leads Rossies to Connacht title.... David Kelly is immense all year for Sligo.... Jimers scores wonder goal in Quarter-Final and leads the line against Monaghan on an off day for JD.... I think O'Connor will get it....
That sees Kildare getting 3???????

| Yea the footballers were named on the night last year so they'll be announced before the day of the awards in citywest.
I think Kelly and Doyle will get them meself. Wasnt expecting to see Leper in the half-backs. I'd love to see Kavanagh get one but he's fierce competition for the full forwards with Brogan a cert and probably Goulding and Shine getting the other 2!
Well done to the 5 lads on gettin nominated!!

| Think Johnny has a huge chance now. Out in the half forwards i would be very surprised to see JD not get one. Full forward line is massively competitive Gooch, Brogan, Coulter, Goulding, Jimmers etc. What a legend.
Congrats to all 5 lads, its a huge acheivement.
Im not normally one for singling out individuals but special credit must go to Peter Kelly. Debut season, not a natural corner back, coming into a problem area in our team after conceding a cricket score against louth. For him to slot in majestically and pull an all star nomination in the process is massive for him and also reflects very well on the coaching set up and decision making of the management team. Well done all.

| As long as the great John Doyle gets one, thats the most deserving, it would be great for the other 4 guys also but they will have more years, Johnny's blood runs white, and for his hunger and dedication to the cause alone he should get one, but he is so much more than that. | |

| The worst kept secret in the gaa yesterday.
The roscommon keeper must be disappointed,he had an excellent year.
Can't see how nich murphy got one over daryl flynn(and others) in midfield.
I think we'll got 2 all stars but once JD gets his i'll be happy enough.

| Yep, super achievement for the 5 lads, I'd be hopeful we'll get 2 in...JD AND LEPER
Just wandering why they choose to announce either the hurling or football winners on the day before the ceremony?? Why not have both being a surprise on the night, I remember watching last year and the excitement in my house when Dermots name was announced, super! But this year we'll know the day before, it doesn't take away from the achievement but I just don't understand why they do it?

Agree it adds to the excitement but they don't have the tv time to do both on the night. Well done to all the lads it's great to see 5 nominees and if JD doesn't get one there's no justice. So who would be your player of the year?
