| Anybody know what the story is here. On the sub's bench for Athy this evening and Kellaghan reported to have said he has options but if he was the Kildare manager he would be getting in touch.
What a boost it would be if he was available for the summer. The phrase "the one that got away" was made for him.

| Out of contract with Charlton now isn't he?
Bohs tried to sign him on loan towards the end of last season but he said he'd prefer to stay in England and prove himself on loan there instead.
If Charlton aren't offering him an extension and he can't find another club over there then there's the chance he'd come home and return to college, can't imagine he'd have much trouble getting back onto the scholarship programme in DCU if that's the road he chooses.
Be a great to see him back in a white jersey at some stage anyways.

| Would be a great boost if Jason called him into the squad now. We could do with all the quality we can muster! His fitness levels have to be high if he's been playing professional football all year. Could slot into midfield alongside Hurley! Pick up the phone Jason! | |

| Getting "paid" to play soccer is all relative here. Bar a couple of high-profile Irish internationals returning on good money, clubs here have had to get it together and cut way, way back. Average wage playing soccer here now is very much three figures a week, and in many cases more medium than high end. | |

| No way he could claim a starting place straight away. However he would be a very welcome addition to the squad right now and could fight for his place like everyone else. | |

Still more than you'll get for playing football for Kildare and with less commitment required too. Kevin Feely is the best underage footballer I've seen - definitely in my time in Kildare anyway. But given the war there was here over Daniel Flynn getting into the U21 team and he only away a few months, Feely getting in having been away from the game at county level for two years would be bananas. Grand, bring him into training, but he needs to play games with the club first. And that's IF he's going to be around for more than the next 6-8 weeks.

| technically he couldn't move to another kildare club but if for instance he was back in college and living in another county he could look to transfer to a club in that county at any stage of the year as he hasn't played championship this year | |

You're wrong. Doesn't matter how long you haven't played for, you must transfer to play for another club.

| So it dosent matter how long it is since a Player has played, He still needs a Transfer ?, Does that include an Intercounty Transfer ? Is that a National Policy, or a Kildare One ? | |

| Intercounty can transfer at any time, i'd imagine if a player wanted to use address from outside the county or county then that would allow him to transfer at any time. Transfers within the county are not processed till Jan 1st, think till Feb 1st although i may be corrected on this | |

| Intercounty transfers can happen at any stage during the year
In this case he never transferred out of Athy so would need a transfer to play for any other club

| From the time a player first plays competitive all county football, which in Kildare is the u12 registration blitz, if he doesen't play in this its any grade from u13 up, he requires a transfer. One of these urban legends is that if you stand down for a period of time you don't need a transfer, this is false. When a player applies for an inter club transfer now, it must first be passed by the CCC or relevant committee and then his new club requests his registration from his original club through the servasport system, until this is done the transfer is not complete so he is illegal. For inter club transfer the window opens 1st Jan and closes end of Feb. Intercounty transfers can take place anytime, do ye not remember the Seanie Johnson saga ?? | |

| If he was on the subs bench last sunday then surely he is not interested in any club other than Athy? Still think he is likely to end up playing soccer rather than gaelic. | |

| Seamus does indeed know something.
He played with Athy 2nd's last night and scored 1-09 I'm led to believe.
But I know there are a couple of Dublin clubs sniffing around him at the moment and these wouldn't be soccer clubs either.
Ballymun Kickhams being one. |
