Just want to say Best of Luck tomorrow lads. It will not be easy up there. I expect a huge performance out of us not like the shambles of the last day. It could be one of our greatest hours in many a year if we actually manage to beat them. Glad to see Fitzy being included as he will be looking to impress further and will fight like a hoor. Big day for the backs; down have very powerful, strong forwards. Would really like to see O'Connor getting some time, he deserves it and is a real goal threat. Anyway Up Kildare and hopefully we are heading down the motorway happy tomorrow evening. Support is vital tomorrow, albeit I expect a small kildare crowd. Making the trip up myself, are there many of ye folk traveling?

Shur it must have been Down's B team, or they worn out from the 12th. Great win, great spirit when Down drew level Kildare dug in and kicked on. Great to see well done all!!

Great character and fitness to outscore them 1-8 to 0-1 after being pegged back level. Before people come on telling us how terrible Down are, let it be noted that it took serious guts to go up there and win with the whole world against this squad. We might be a long way off the best teams and we might lack a lot of qualities but we don't lack desire.

Well Kildare once again prove themselves to be the Axl Rose of Gaelic football - wildly unpredictable, capable of excellence and abject awfulness. Anyway, fair play to everyone - I thought they would be beaten today and they have proved me completely wrong, will be happy if they continue to do so.

So... a Leinster minor final and another qualifier to look forward to. Is the draw already set up or does it have to be made?

Congratulations to Jason and the players on beating Down. I have to admit I was a bit worried when Down came at us back after the break, but Kildare dug deep, kept on battling and pulled through for a great win. Most importantly, we are still in the championship and another game to look forward to.

No-one was saying Down were terrible beforehand. And if these guys lacked balls, as some so scurrilously claimed a few weeks ago, or if this was an unhappy camp and if the players did not believe in their management, they had the chance not to win when Down came back level. Their response to that tells you all you need to know about their spirit and their conditioning. Dunno why people find it so hard to accept that there is actually a transition going on. And it's not transition in Kerry, it's transition in Kildare.

Great win today by the lads, set up better, more intensity in our play, dug deep when Down came back at us and drew level, we kicked on and got some fine scores and a great goal. All the doom and gloom prescribed by the profits of doom and gloom is gone away for another week.... Well done to all concerned on a tough place to go and get a win.... CILL DARA ABU

Well done Kildare. Fantastic to be able to turn it around in the fortnight after suffering a fairly humbling defeat in Leinster. Great travelling support as always. It would be great if we could get another few days out before the end of the summer.

just back from newry a happy man. what character shown today by all. 5 up at half time and level after 7 mins of second half, against the wind. didnt look good. then conway won a ball near the stand which hed no right to win, and set up a lovely score to put us ahead. we started winning ball around the middle so the supply was great into the forwards after that. what a goal from moolick to cap off a brilliant finish to what was a real nail-biter of a game. the 2 black cards actually worked in our favour as all the subs made a great impact when brought in. well done to all involved and cant wait for next week , no matter who we meet. come on the lilies
