| Fair play if that's the case. On another point, and its especially a bibe of contention for some here. Friday night passed with no Seo Spoirt or any GAA preview on RTE. All this while the county players are starting media bans and it seems promoting our games is actually going in reverse. | |

| I thought you had to appeal within 3 days of notification of ban! |

| Given that this news leaked through the Irish News, is it possible that he may be advised by a certain eminent Belfast based QC who may or may not have played corner forward for Derry in the 90's!! Said QC has been arguing Connolly's case vehemently in both social and print media over the last 8 days. | |

| Smells of the Brolly alright. The 3 day thing confuses me too but maybe he already appealed last week and it was just reported wrong. | |

| Would have a lot more time for Brolly if he spend his time closing this loopholes in the rule book instead of being a busy body going around getting players who are clearly guilty off. He would be adding some value to the G.A.A then.
Really feel somebody needs to put a motion to congress next year that a frivolous appeal can lead to the ban being increased.
Every disciplinary case now gets appealed and more often than not gets off, something is wrong with the rule book obviously but the culture of not taking personal responsibility for a players action is gone beyond a joke.

| Connolly not appealing further. Would have been a farce if he did.

| Some shock up in Ulster this evening ... the gap is narrowing a bit you would think .. looking like 4 division 2 teams and 4 division 1 teams in the finals.
Given how down and Galway have performed so far I am becoming more optimistic about the rest of the year.
Looking like big 3 and everyone else. Exciting times though.
Fantastic championship so far

| It was a cracking game. Ref was on borrowed time there with a few decisions. Monaghan are very susceptible to pace. Down used it all night right up the middle. I would not fear meeting Monaghan one bit if we had to play them. We have far more pace than Down. I see Brendan Hackett is working with the Mourne men.
As highball says that's four Div 2 teams in provincial finals. Not a bad strike rate.

| So, Dublin beat a piss poor Westmeath by 31 points. Have to say, Tom Cribbin threw each and everyone of those Westmeath players to the lions. No plan, no system at the back to protect the full-back line. Disgraceful from him. You'd be hard pressed to find a worse goalkeeper than that idiot Westmeath had in goals.
You'd have to be worried for our lads in a few weeks time.

| Cribbin standing on the sideline had the exact same expression Jason Ryan regularly had of " I have no idea what I'm doing". To go into a game against Dublin and have a kickout strategy like that with Goalkeeper like that was unbelievable. Westmeath looked like they had been on the beer all week. What good will that do Dublin, who knows. | |

| Lads saying they were blowing at the end of the first half. IC teams should be in better nick than that. I'd like to think that we have far more on the field and far more cop-on on the sideline. | |

| You would hope so. We'll see how our conditioning is anyway. If we can keep at them for 70 minutes we'll be going places. | |

| Delighted with that. Last thing we needed was Dubs to get a competitive game ahead of ours. Some task for us but we knew that. We're in the last 12 so under no pressure. Just give it an almighty rattle and you never know.

| Yeah in fairness, all pressure is off with that - Dublin will be massive favourites. Have to say, though, Tom Cribben is genuinely one of the most clueless managers I've ever seen. Jason Ryan has some competition, finally. | |

| Dublin now refusing to do one-to-one broadcast interviews following the Connolly suspension - Marty Morrissey on SixOne News this evening. Interviews with print journalists were granted, with cameras permitted to be present.

| Hard to listen to the RTE commentary on that match. At one stage Ger Canning said "these players have totally dedicated themselves to the pursuit of sporting excellence...Training 6 times aweek..." FFS - they were playing against a team that played in Division 4 this year.
The kick-outs will be key as I can't see us catching as many clean ones as we did against Meath so we'll have to win a lot of the breaks. Mannion and Kilkenny were excellent today so well have to mark them closely. A lot of Dublin's points came from 30-35 yards out - an area we let Meath have too much room the last day.
We'll be rank outsiders in the final. Hopefully we can show a bit of the spirit/madness that Down showed last night and rattle them.
