What planet are they living on? A Kildare squad with huge potential blowing it - that could never happen!

| Best of luck to the minors today. I think we'll win if we can show the same heart and work-rate we did against Meath. Cill Dara abu. | |

| Congrats to all involved on another great win. 3 Leinsters in 4 years is testament to the great work done in the development squads. This team looks to be very well coached - a clear attacking game plan and defenders that know when/how to tackle. Huge credit to Brendan Hackett and his backroom team. | |

| Great win and performance. Great to see the way this team has developed. Credit to the backroom team and Brendan Hackett must take a lot of plaudits. Hopefully they keep it going and go one better this year. They are a credit to their clubs and families. You'd never get tired watching the style of football they play. Well done. | |

| Fantastic achievement winning back to back Leinster titles. Well done to all involved. Some of our players were excellent again today, Masterson is brilliant in the middle. Archbold, O'Toole, McLoughlin all played great. Roll on the quarter finals. Mayo up next! | |

| Great win today. Success breeds success - if only we could transfer that now to the senior team.
Mayo up next on July 30th!

| Well done to today, great achievement. Nice to see a culture starting to develop at underage where moral victories are no longer tolerated. I'm sure over the next five years that culture will develop in the senior team
Keep the fire burning and push on now lads, nothing stopping you going as far as you like.

Mayo up next on July 30th! Is that date confirmed? Venue? Would a double header in Tullamore offer Kildare and Laois too much of an advantage?

Venues will probably be confirmed tomorrow. Venue will likely be in Leinster - Tullamore would definitely suit us. Longford/Mullingar other options?

| Fantastic achievement by all involved in the underage set up over the last few years.
I'd say the date/venue for the next day will depend on the senior schedule. Ourselves and Laois are the only two counties left in the minor championship who aren't still in the senior.

Tullamore I'd say though it's been a bit of a graveyard for our underage team v Connacht opponents.

| Congrats to all involved. Always nice to beat the Queens.
Hopefully these lads aren't wrapped in cotton wool for two weeks, as we've seen in the last few years, it simply doesn't work.

| With only 2 weeks to the quarter final I'd imagine the only thing they'll be wrapped up in are ice packs. Congratulations to the players on the win. Laois played badly but not their fault. The missed chances were disappointing but they were consistent and didn't go to sleep for 15 minutes like in the earlier rounds. Even when they gave the ball away in the first half at least they were trying to do the right thing and let the ball in early to the full-forward line. McLoughlin was phenomenal.
You would have to say at both minor and under 21 this year, outside of the top couple of teams, the standard in Leinster overall looks poor. Mayo will tell us a lot more about where the team really stands in 2 weeks.

| Does the provincial draw for the senior All - Ireland semi finals follow suit for the minor : i.e. Leinster v Connacht on 28th August. | |

| Interesting thoughts from Brendan Hackett in an interview in the Leader: There is a duty now to take this group - there's four years of minors now - and work with them. And that is where Dublin creep ahead. The Dublin guys head to places like DCU and UCD and they develop as footballers. They go in to an elite environment with elite players from every other county and you see they just thrive from 18. And that is what Kildare need to do, they need to match what Dublin do. It's nothing do with money, if money was the answer then Dublin would have won theist 5 or 6 Leinsters. It's good coaching and good environments. Having watched this years Under-21 team lose to Dublin after beating them easily as minors in 2013 would suggest he has a point. I'm not sure exactly what we can do (closer links with NUI Maynooth perhaps?) but I think it's important that people like Brendan Hackett, Cian O'Neill, Bryan Murphy etc. come up with a plan to put structures in place to make sure we get the best from these players once they are finished at minor level. | |

| Agree with it all except good coaching and good environments cost huge money, especially when they aren't naturally located within your city limits! | |

| Think the UCD/DCU thing is very important. From 2006/7 when Cork were winning U21's and eventually the senior all Ireland CIT and UCC were very competitive at fresher and sigerson football and most of the guys went through the gates there. Likewise UCD and DCU complement Dublin county teams very well. Its a no brainer. Mutually beneficial for colleges players and county teams alike. Im not sure Paul Flynn would have become the player he is or has been over the last 4 or 5 years if he'd had continued working as a plumber. Not sure if NUIM has a sports science department or is as committed to Gaelic Football as the other colleges. |
