| For sure Brendan Hackett makes perfect sense here, Kildare do and should be a bit more pushing getting their players into colleges close to home Maynooth / Carlow and Dublin rather than having young lads who mainly need public transport in the likes of Waterford/Cork/Galway...
I believed this is beginning to start a bit more with John Doyle in Maynooth etc. but maybe not.

| McGeeney was trying get this type of connection with Maynooth 5 years ago and it never developed. Doubt it will now. | |

No doubts he'll be taking it if true.

No doubts he'll be taking it if true. They can't keep a manager in Laois. Hackett would be mad. If the county board wants to do something positive, his progression on to the U-21 job is a must. Kildare needs to build on what work has been done.

| Why would Hackett take the Kildare u-21 job over the Laois senior job?
Besides has Murphy really done that badly he needs to be pushed aside ?

| One would imagine he'd take a senior job now if it's offered.
Fone I assumed Murphy wouldn't continue to combine the u21 job with his senior role ?.. maybe he will.

Fone I assumed Murphy wouldn't continue to combine the u21 job with his senior role ?.. maybe he will. Hackett left Westmeath senior team in April. 2010 only months in job

| Final score today Galway 3-10 Laois 0-12
2-6 to 0-2 at HT so recovery of sorts from Laois in the second half. Suggests there won't be much in it in the game on Monday

| No it should be a tight affair but there's every reason to hope we'll come out the right side of it | |

| It will be close alright, it's how we like to do it in Kildare.
Looking at the score above we left behind at least two goals in our game against Laois. Laois were lucky to get to the Leinster final. Out of their depth to be fair.

| Well done. Ground out the win. By all accounts Kerry will be a major step up but good to see us in successive semi-finals. Now we've got the QF monkey off our backs would be good to go one better. A lot more in this team. | |

| Excellent result and very good performance, Jack Robinson is a special player, incredible pace and a great finisher, the goal he scored today was incredible.
Also a mention for my club mate Dave Marnell who I thought was excellent in the second half, Mayo clearly targeted him on their own kickout but he fielded every ball!
