| Hi lads, can anyone tell me if the county minors will be available for their clubs in their senior/intermediate/junior championships? | |

| Think there are rules in place that they have to be available for clubs first team championship matches |

| Anyone named in the panel of 24 cannot play with their club until they are eliminated from the All-Ireland series. This rule came into effect this year. The panel of 24 is submitted monthly. | |

| This does not apply to championship only to league games for your clubs | |

| Sorry Lads you are right. Bit of an odd rule to be allow play championship and not League games/Challenge matches. Sure it makes sense to someone. | |

Correct. Doesn't mean they'll be playing.

| Minors can play club championship once it's 7 days before the minor match, that's the rule. | |

| Doesn't mean they will though lilly, anyway it's all only speculation unless they beat mayo.. although the management must be fairly confident if they're organising a weekend away the following weekend. | |

What reason do we have to be so confident? We are untested outside of what is generally regarded nowadays as the weakest province in the country and last time we played the Connacht runners up as Leinster champions we know what happened (at the same venue as Monday 'n all). Hope the players' feet are being kept on the ground. Kildare have never won a minor All Ireland compared to Mayo's five..

| I'd be very wary of Mayo, they always are good at minor level. Roscommon gave us a lesson in football at this venue in 13. Kildare management left a lot to be desired that day as they were so slow to rectify some glaring problems in the way our defense was set up. Hopefully the present team are more adaptable when things go wrong. | |

| It's a very valid point re mayo, and the management took the rossies totally for granted in 2013.. it can be very difficult to know how good or bad a team is coming out of another province.. I only hope this time the homework has been done. | |

Just good planning, no? Rather than waiting til Tuesday to try organise something? I think it's fair to say, most of the taking for granted occurs in the stands.

| Good planning alright.. the weekend of the senior championship.. all irrelevant if we don't win Monday. Anyway best of luck to all. | |

| and first round of minor club champ mid week the following week so club teams who haven't had these players since league ended in April will not even be able to have them 3 or 4 days out from club champ for a bit of a training session?
Its hard to blame Hackett in all this. His loyalty and responsibility is for the Kildare minor team and he will plan and prepare as he see's fit. Maybe this is the cost of success. |

| Absolutely umpire, he won't give a Fck about the feelings of the club's, his priority is his team and who can blame him.. it's hard on the player's also, as their caught up in the middle and won't want to be letting their club minors or senior's down or their county manager. .. interestingly if our senior team were still involved, there would be no club matches at all. The gas thing is the boys that are underage again next year can't play senior anyway.

| Galway 2-6 Laois 0-2 is the score at half time of the other Connacht/Leinster quarter final. It gives a small indication of how the provinces measure up against one another although Laois were probably only the fourth best team in Leinster after ourselves, Meath and Dublin. | |

| Rumours has it All county minors will NOT be released to their clubs!!! Very unfair on the small clubs such as Ballyteague, clane, Clogherinkoe. Can managers really stop lads playing championship? | |

| Looks like they have no choice. Very unfair but IMO all county minors should be wrapped up in cotton wool for next 4weeks | |

Like they were last year and then didn't turn up against Tipp? It's amazing how it's forgotten where these players have come from once the county have a bit of success. Good old Kildare attitude.

Isn't the minor club championship fixed for the next few weeks too? Surely they'll have to play in that anyway? Very hard on the small clubs to play without them.
