Nothing appears to be happening and no updates from anyone.
No coverage of our county finals on either RTE or TG4 because they are not willing to erect a gantry for their camera's to cover them live or record these games for highlights.
After 3 years we have managed to 'knock out' the dividing walls in the dressing rooms so far. read Tommy Callaghan this week in leader and updates are given at county board meetings plus their one next week | |

| As time passes by it’s looking less and less likely that these plans will come to fruition. Great plans that they are. Reminds me of the old plan to move out to a new site in Newbridge.... The CB should be crying blue murder at the lack of financial support from the government or GAA. They should be issuing press releases weekly on the matter, if required to do so. Or giving our neighbours to the north of the county a call and working on this together. Mark my words, Lord Stepaside will be chomping at the bit to give grants to his leafy Southside hockey clubs after recent successes... We’ll be left behind if we don’t act. Join forces with Meath, highlight the fact that more people will use both pitches than any hockey field in Dundrum. Push the issue and demand action. Otherwise we’ll be on this complaining about the jacks etc in Conleth’s for years to come. And Navan the same. We both deserve better. | |

| Timing is everything. We have a general election just around the corner so expect the announcement at the most profitable time for votes. Now please be patient the timing of the redevelopment is less important than getting the government reelected. | |

| You’re right.... and the minister for sport is??? And he’s from where??? I don’t expect to see him in Newbridge for the O’Byrne cup. Kildare doesn’t have a minister. The main opposition party doesn’t have any likely candidates for ministerialship either. And that’s important! Look at Mayo with Kenny and Ringer. Look at Tullamore after Cowen. Dublin after Bertie. These things matter. Right now nobody is pushing for us, when we need it most. Mark my words, if there’s money to be spent, it’ll be spent in ministerial constituencies, not Kildare. We need to watch this and be noisy about getting what we deserve. | |

| Hopefully he is. He should be doing interviews and standing with the CB, highlighting the need for the renovation works. Others have and would do the same. Haven’t seen him doing that as of yet though, I could be wrong. In his position you don’t bite the hand that feeds you so he may not want to cause too much of a stir. | |

| I understand that he is most definitely pushing for funding. The strategic timing by the government and then multiple announcements and photo opportunities could be done without | |

| Unfortunately we are beholden to the powers that be holding onto the coffers until a general election is announced then the grants will be released to buy votes. There are loads of clubs around the County awaiting word on sports capital so not just St Conleths. | |
