Yeah I'll be there. Going to the Hill for the first time since 2011 just out of curiosity. I'm sure I'll have plenty of room for most of the game! I know a lot of people in here abandoned going to games when we started losing so I'm just curious, what is the stage where you start supporting the team again? When results start to go our way?

I’ve a few issues with attending Leinster championship games and most of them revolve around inequality.
Firstly, obviously the Croke park thing. These games shouldn’t be there. It’s a money making scam putting two games on and they’ll charge through the nose for it. The second game is a complete non event. Had we not been relegated, ours would be the same. None of the remaining teams have a hope in hell of winning. A stand alone fixture of Kildare and Louth would, in my opinion, barely bring 10k. We’re all being forced into Croke park to suit Dublin. Same as it ever was.
Secondly, funding. Well over half, if not two thirds, or the funds raised from ticket sales will ultimately end up in Dublin GAA. I, for one, am no longer willing to fund them. So I stay away. The idea that the development of the GAA in Dublin gets overly funded compared to Louth, Kildare and Offaly sickens me. I’m not being part of it anymore.
I’ll be back after the Leinster Championship. The only way this sham of a province will change is if people vote with their feet and pockets. I attend Leinster games outside of Croke park when we get the chance. After that, I’ll pass.

Going to head up anyway even though Badgers points are valid. It’s Kildare in the championship and I’m free tomorrow. Best of luck to the team.

We've a fairly embittered fan base at the moment. We want to blame everything on big bad dublin and Leinster Council without looking closer to home. It's a sad state of affairs really and stinks. It's not a good look.

I'm going as I have done for as long as I can remember.ive asked that question before about people staying away and I presume they will come back when we start winning thats not much help to the team tomorrow.i admit I'm probably hoping against hope that there is a turnaround but it is my county so I'll give them as much support as I can.i don't see supporters of English clubs in England dropping off because their team isn't doing well they still go to all the matches.my opinion is its a cop out ,go and support them and give them whatever help we can and please for the hurlers on the ditch at least wait until the match is over tomorrow for a bit of constructive debate on the match

I'll be there too. As said above , travelling in more hope than expectation. I'm hoping that like last year we produce a big championship performance
I'm abroad but when home go to any game, indeed was at O'Byrne Cup games in January. But I flew home for Leinster final in 2023 and on way out said I won't go to Croke Park for Leinster game again. I hate the place. The price, lack of atmosphere, facilitating Dublin. Even today, fact the big game is first so Dublin fans can fall in to the "main event".
If I was in Ireland and game was anywhere else I'd go but not to a warm up act in Croke Park. Think many feel the same. Or at least that is sense I get.
Anyway, best of luck. I'm usually optimistic but realised this is a team of lads living on bygone reputation and passengers in a set up they don't want to be in. Louth are good, have better forwards so can't see it. But anyway...
I think Kildare fans tend to have a bloated bandwagon support and in reality the hardcore fans are much smaller in number.
In recent years no-one is arsed with Leinster and the price of going to a game is a lot. The negativity around the whole camp and some of the noises from inside have people asking why would they bother.
I'd also argue that lads I know, who were younger and in the hype of 98 have kids now and there is always something going on every weekend, so kids are playing and don't have a day to give up.
Bizarrely, I think if we do go to Tailteann it'd be a reset and you might get the odd novelty pairing. Anyway, it's a nice day so it'll look well on Jones' Road!

GAA greed is hard to stomach.
I won't be at the match. was going to say nice day for it but clouding up now
Two years ago we were going to paint Tullamore white. It was great to be finally out of Croker. By God it was going to be packed.
We were just after coming down from Div 1 but we were very unlucky. Louth had just been promoted to Div 2 and were a dangerous team. A big crowd surely!
No, 5,308 turned up. It pissed rain in the second half and there was no cover for the terrace. Tullamore must be a kip too. Why are the GAA bringing us there?!
If the game was played in X or Y, with guaranteed sun, and other perfect conditions Kildare fans would have show up in their thousands...or they might have just not been arsed for a variety of reasons...
All that being said, I'd rather Navan today but let's not pretend that's the reason we won't get numbers today. It's not some noble protest - it's the team are toxic on and off the field.
Anyway best of luck to the lads! I just want pure effort as we can't expect fitness and tactics to come out of the blue.
Losing today and getting a few decent away trips and new venues in the Tailteann Cup is almost a more attractive option than winning, getting hammered in the Leinster final, and then facing at least 1 more game in Croke Park against a division 1 / 2 team and an away game against another division 1 / 2 team in the group stage.
Not that I wouldn’t expect us to ship a hammering to someone in the Tailteann Cup but at least there’s a lot less chances of suffering one in Croke Park for a change.
Louth are faster, stronger, better organised and better coached so should be a lot shorter odds than they already are as odds on favourites.
Hard to see what we can suddenly have improved on since the Wicklow game but for some reason there’s always blind hope and optimism.
