I wouldn't expect this unless they were really struggling in the middle. Kallum King came in at the start of the year, as a stop gap type, and has been one of their best players this year. Catch ball, lay it off to runner, cover Rogers' defensive duties. He does the simple things well and is having a good year.

Dan McCartan, brother of James, is in the corner and is probably the weak link of the defence. He will pick up Smith I reckon, and I'd fancy the Kildare man to come out on top here.

Rafferty will follow Doyle, which will leave Gordon on Callaghan.

McKernan's dad did win an all-ireland alright, and the son is starting to come into his own. He'll play the sweeper role., he was excellent against Kerry.

At a guess, Kavanagh will be picked up by Declan Rooney, who will spend the 70 minutes niggling at him. Discipline needed here.

That leaves Conor Garvey on O'Flaherty.

1:was Dermot there if so was he in good form and walking crutch free?

When I saw Deegan's name down to referee one of the Semi Finals - my heart sank - thank f*$k we avoided him.

Why is a Northern referee appointed to a game where there is a northern team involved ?

And as for a Laois man appointed to referee a Dublin game in an All - ireland semi -final ?

Anyway I met a cracking woman at the Monaghan game ( had a few drinks on board and gave her my number ) and she is married to a Down man.Text me yesterday to tell me that Down supporters are booking hotels for the final such is the confidence levels up there.They reckon we are the easiest team to get in the semis.

Someone is gonna be fierce disappointed on the 29th August 2010

At least if Deegan is doing the other semi he prob wont get the final. All we have to do now is get there.

I've seen Rogers name on this thread a few times but I presume people have seen this article -

Also a good argument for not having a round of championship before semi final. You wouldn't wish and injury on anyone and especially at this stage of the year but it would be a big blow for Down.

Down have a slow deliberate build up from the back line if we apply the same pressure as we did to the Meath backs then I can see us punishing them. When you run at the Down backs they are very easy to open up, I can see goals being scored.

Coulter is a confidence player if things aren't going his way he is not going to make it happen and the way our backs play they will be all over him like a hot snot. Poland is the working forward and I can see him & Leper having a ding dong battle.

Will be a cracker of a match by 2 good tacticians.

Even when they have been poor, he has generally been their best players and his poor games count is extremely low, so I can't agree with that.
