I met him in the jacks at half time in our qualifier in 2008 against Fermanagh and he had nothing good to say about Kildare. Haven't liked him since!

If the referee is good enough, it shouldn't matter where he is from. Do we automatically think McEnaney will show bias towards Down? Maybe he hates them?? Will Dublin want Deegan? Doubt it, seeing as a Laois man he probably hates them.....

McEnaney will let the game flow, so expect a tough, physical encounter, but his favour of the advantage rule might suit Kildare and the likes of Smithy and Jimers....

With Duffy the referee for last year's Final, it would seem to be McQuillan and White. With O'Conamha on the line for a Quarter-Final, I would doubt he is being considered....

McEnaney has never favoured anyone,is top quality,ur dead right,it will flow like wine,he is a great ref to have,glad its not deegan!!!!!

I would like to see Coldrick get the final. He's the best referee after McEnaney IMO.

He would be ideal for a Kildare/Dublin All-Ireland!

Coulter is a confidence player if things aren't going his way he is not going to make it happen and the way our backs play they will be all over him like a hot snot. Poland is the working forward and I can see him & Leper having a ding dong battle.

I've seen Coulter playing many's a poor game. It's all about the quality of ball going in, Joe Sheridan is in my opinion better than Coulter.
He was kept quiet the last day. Why? Because we won primary possession around midfield and pressurised their backs coming out with the ball.
Forcing errors and rushed passes. If we do the same again he can be kept quiet.
Down did not become world beaters over night, last year Wicklow beat them and this year They struggled over Offaly and Longford.
I wouldn't fear them, but I would respect them.
They gave us a right trimming in the League n Newbridge, the lads
Should want to avenge this and reach an All Ireland Final.

Fionn I would agree with you, I think Sheridan is better than Coulter and the backs got to grips with him the last day out. IMO Coulter is the best player on the Down team. The problem with your best player playing in the full forward line is that he has to rely on the rest of the team to bring him into the game. If the ball going into him is poor then he is fighting a losing battle.

If you go back 4-5 years ago the same thing was happening to JD in Kildare. He would work his legs off trying to make the best of whatever kind of ball came his way. He is now playing better, even being older, because the players around him have improved. A good forward no matter how good will only show his true potential when he is playing in a good TEAM and getting the right supply of ball.

The key to beating Down is to play like we did against Meath. Win primary possession at midfield and put pressure or the backs that are trying to supply the forward line.

Joe Sheridan better than Benny Coulter.What planet have ye been on for the past 10 years ? Have ye woken up yet ?

Benny Coulter is a sensational player

tomcruise if I had to pick between the two of them I would have Sheridan every day of the week. His strength and scoring ability make him one of the best forwards around. Also nobody said that Coulter was not a good player but IMO just not as good as Sheridan that is all.

Lads, I honestly can''t see how anyone would think Sheridan is better than Coulter. Benny is one of the country's top forwards and just doesn't get the recognition because, prior to this year, he was on a poor Down team, running the show by himself mostly.

He has every attribute you could want in a player and there aren't many forwards who can field better than him either.

i'd go for

Coulter

and i would prob have it in that order too.

For me .. Coulter is never a top 4 forward. Doubt he would get into many people's dream forward line - for the heck of it mine is:
