| Mikey wore 11 and ran the show without breaking sweat. Thought Fitzpatrick played really well. I would like to see him in the corner for first team, Ciaran Kelly kicked some great points was a bit surprised how few subs were used considering the game was effectivley over after Lyons goal. | |

| Mikey was brilliant, on that display he will see game time v Meath.
I was very impressed with paddy Dunne in midfield. Considering it's an area we are weak, he did himself no harm at all.
Mulhall & Kelly looked good in the forwards, Daragh mcevoy was the pick of the backs I thought

| Final score 2-14 to 1-8.
Good display by the whole team. Showed very well for each other and worked as a unit through out. Scored 1-7 in each half with some well worked moves from the back up. Never looked in trouble after getting ahead early in the game.

Moolick is in the middle of exams at the moment in Maynooth so that might explain why they didn't start him.

| Good performance tonight. Fitzpatrick and Conway stood out I thought. Great to see Conway playing for Kildare again. I thought the same about the subs. They could have brought on a few more towards the end. Next match vs the Dubs on 8th June I think Dublin have home advantage. | |

| Kildare nailed down their intentions early in the Leinster Junior Football Championship Quarter-Final against Louth, when they opened a 1-6 to 0-0 lead after 16 minutes.
A Jimmy Gately brace along with Ciaran Kelly & Darroch Mulhall had Kildare four points up after 11. Then, Paddy Dunne gained possession, ran 40 metres before popping a pass to Mulhall to goal. Points from Kelly & Mikey Conway resulted in the nine point lead.
Bernard Osbourne opened Louth’s account on 22 after slack Kildare marking. Rather harshly, referee Niall Ward then adjudged Daragh McEvoy to have footblocked in the square. Up-stepped David Reid to goal. He then pointed to close the gap to four points, before Ciaran Kelly scored his 3rd of the half, to leave the half-time score at 1-7 to 1-2.
Any thoughts of a Louth comeback were put to bed in the opening minute of the 2nd half, when corner-back Ollie Lyons flicked a Conway pass beyond Louth keeper Craig Lynch to open an eight point lead.
While, Louth wiped out that goal with points from Osbourne, Brian Donnelly & a Reid brace, Kildare responded with fine points from Mulhall & Kelly to put them in a 2-9 to 1-6 lead with 12 minutes remaining.
The Juniors kicked on with 5 points to Louth’s brace from Reid. Mulhall kicked his 2nd free before his Athy club-mate Paddy Dunne had the game’s best score from 40 metres. Kelly finished up with his 5th point, Confey’s Gately kicked his 3rd and Mikey Conway signed off his return to County competitive action with a free to see Kildare win convincingly by 2-14 to 1-8.
Kildare now play Dublin away after they beat Wicklow 2-13 to 1-9. Kilkenny defeated Wexford 3-5 to 0-13. They will travel to play Cavan after their 1-12 to 2-6 win over Longford. Both semi-finals take place on Wednesday June 8.

| It was a pleasure to see Mikey Conway in action last night. Everytime he got the ball you knew something was going to happen. For a forward he is a dream as every ball he plays gives you more than a fighting chance of winning. His best position is where he played last night or in the half back line where he can dictate play. He is going to be a very dangerous weapon for us this summer.
Thought the score flattered Louth, penalty was very soft.
Kieran Kelly, Mulhall and Dunne were best for me. Kelly is a class act and cant be too far away from the senior team, he is defo one for next year.
Hopefully they can push on now and beat the dubs.

| Good question Taibi re Mikey at centre forward.. Will definitely be one for consideration down the line when he gets himself fully right. At the moment, it would be very harsh on Chalky, Bolton or Flats to lose out. | |

| Returning ace Conway helps Lilies put end to Louth reign Kildare 2-14 Louth 1-8 Leinster JFC
Kildare dethroned the Leinster junior champions following a confident performance in Newbridge last night.
The home side made a blistering start, with the returning Mikey Conway at the heart of most of their good work, and were ahead -- 1-6 to 0-0 -- after 20 minutes.
With Paddy Dunne driving the home team on, Kildare scored the first four points of the game and the big midfielder teed up Darroch Mulhall for the game's opening goal in the 12th minute.
Despite Kildare's good opening, Louth were handed a way back into the game when they were awarded a rather soft penalty, which David Reid converted, and there were five points between the teams at the half-time break.
Conway was making his first appearance in a Kildare jersey since suffering a serious knee injury in 2009 and he showed his class just 30 seconds after the restart, when his clever pass presented Ollie Lyons with his side's second goal.
Louth kept battling away during the second half and the accurate David Reid kept them in touch, but they never looked likely to close the gap.
Kildare had the greater class up front through the likes of Conway, Mulhall and Ciaran Kelly, while Dunne was Man of the Match in midfield.
In this kind of form, Kildare will be formidable opponents for any team in this competition.
Scorers -- Kildare: D Mulhall 1-3 (2f), C Kelly 0-5, O Lyons 1-0, J Gately 0-3 (1f), M Conway 0-2 (1f), P Dunne 0-1. Louth: D Reid 1-5 (1pen, 3fs), B Osbourne 0-2, B Donnelly 0-1 (1f).
Kildare -- R Eyres; D McEvoy, C Fitzpatrick, O Lyons; M Kelly, M Scanlon, J Doyle; W Heffernan, P Dunne; J Lambe, M Conway, C Kelly; D Mulhall, P Meagher, J Gately. Subs: T Moolick for Meagher (36).
Louth -- C Lynch; P Rath, R Brennan, G Hoey; D Bracken, L Shevlin, J Craven; B Donnelly, Sean O'Neill; J McEneaney, D Reid, B Osbourne; K Rogers, C O'Hanlon, E O'Neill. Subs: M Rogers for Craven (h-t), R Holdcroft for E O'Neill (h-t), J Clarke for S O'Neill (h-t), B Flanagan for McEneaney (53).

| if the juniors are down to play on the 8th of june does this put the final nail in the coffin of a second round of club c/ship being played before the end of kildares involvement in all ireland series. as far as im aware the weekend of the 10th/11th of june was the provisional date for second round of club games. it could be a long summer for teams in mid table in there leagues trying to keep numbers up in training and preparing for c/ship which maybe months away. | |
