Definitely agree with this. Look at the improvement Dublin have enjoyed in hurling over the last few years in relation to the demise of Offaly and Wexford at senior level. Aside from the structures and development plans, I'd say the fact that a lot of the current Dublin teams has grown up beating Kilkenny at under 16 level up has played a big role in beating them at senior level. There's absolutely no fear of the sight of a Kilkenny jersey that young lads in Offaly and Wexford might suffer from. There's been some fantastic work done at underage level in the county over the last few years, we're starting to reap that at minor and under 21 level, with a bit of continuity there's no reason why it can't continue and eventually filter into the senior panel.

You've summed it up perfectly there, if_in_doubt, its all about continuity with the management and giving them plenty of oppurtunities at senior level. Laois got it badly wrong with 3 minor AI winning teams and not even one U21 title. The CB cant afford to make a bad appointment at U21 level again as they have done in the past. Brilliant to see such talent coming through. Well done to all involved.

| Its all about creating a winning mentality and tradition of winning titles and beating big teams. Once youngfellahs get into a stride of winning and playing competitive games at an early age it will help them in the long run. Its also to do with how the talent is harnessed and managed. I always use the example of Tipp. They have possibly the largest group of talented hurlers coming from u-14 level to u-21, yet at senior stage its not managed as well as it could be. Hopefully in our case they appoint the right men to do the job, and it certainly seems that way with brian murphy and lacey and others in place! The future is bright!! | |

| Have to agree with all those comments, there is great work been done at development squad level, some fantastic footballers are coming down the line and hopefully these players will progress to minor, u21 and senior teams of the future......on a sour note, was told today that the u16 development squad will be down 5 of there best players for their all ireland fr manning cup first round game with roscommon this evening as the mighty sash have contacted head of coaching in kildare and have objected and withdrawn these players as they are playing a minor league final v twomilehouse on sunday......surely this is very unfair on these players and i'm sure the development squad mentors were not going to give these players a full match anyway.....one wonders sometimes the mentality of certain clubs towards county squads and these very same clubs are first to whinge and make a fuss if players are over looked for county squads..... | |

| Not surprised that club been mentioned baffles me their attitude towards the inter county stinks and then earlier in the year I was having a conversation with a sarsfields member and he was giving out this one and that one not been picked for the inter county team |

Ciub Kildare tickets are on sale at the moment at €20, check with your club if you haven't got one already and maybe you could take a book of 5 and sell them, if you haven't done already

Fair play to ye , seen these boys a few weeks ago . Well impressed , they had a lad on 45s droppin them over like cluxton . While it doesnt guarantee success a senior level theres some talent in these squads

| Its very unfair on young lads expecting them to play tough club championship on a friday evening at 7 o'clock and then play a tough inter county match 13 or 14 hours later......where's the players welfare for them young lads..... | |

| 4 weeks ago in the tipperary tournament kildare u16s were beating offaly comfortably by 2-10 to 1-00 ,kildare dominated every position ,with a few mins left game ended up being abandoned,it was a very unexpected result yesterday but just shows how the tough Championship games the night before takes its toll. | |
