U16s out again this Saturday in a Leinster blitz in Blessington, V Wicklow, Louth and Dublin. Games at 10.30, 11.30 & 12.30.

Will that Blitz go ahead ? , bearing in mind the U16 Champ starts on Fri Evening and the County Minors out on Sat ?.. ( surely they would be goin to support them?).

U/16 blitz will go ahead but it us very bad planning, so much for player burn out. U/14's are playing in Dublin on sat

i was blessington this morning for the 16s blitz , we started against dublin in a cracking game which saw dublin win by 1pt . Game number 2 saw us struggle against wicklow due to last nights championship exersions but a late goal from kildare sneaked a 1pt victory . Louth were our last
opponents and kildare ran out comfortable victors . Next up is a game on wed in hawkfield against the winners of the other blitz played today

U/14's had 2squads in action up in Dublin with both squads winning 2 out of 3 matches

Yesterday with the minors is another notch on the bedpost of the Development Squad structure, the work of the coaches and mentors over the years.

Have to say it was a disgrace to see how tired and stiff our U16 squad looked in Blessington yesterday, was talking to a few mentors after the games and the said that there is a ruling that no league or championship be played in counties who are playing in any blitz, It was the fault CB for these young lads having to play such tough fixtures the evening before a important Leinster blitz....

Won nothing yet Ogie but it was indeed a fine win. A badly needed boost for all involved with Kildare football. Hard not to think we are going to have great days to look forward to with the seniors in the next few years when these lads start coming through.

u 16 update . leinster blitz semi finals on wed in hawkfield @ 7 kildare v westmeath and dublin v meath . Winners play final @ 8 , losers play in shield final at the same time .

great results tonight boys , lookin bleak at halftime in the first game but fairplay to the lads they found a way back . The 2nd game without reaching the intensity of saturdays game was still a great game , think these two squads will have a serious rivalary in the next few years . Fair play to 16 Development squad and mentors on their victories tonight, especially their win over the Dubs. This can only give these players confidence in their future battles with the Dubs....slowly slowly we are starting to turn the tide in our favour, but as the say, a lot done but a lot more to do.....CILL DARA ABU....

Next outing for the 16s is in johnstownbridge on tue 16th july . Throw in at 7.30 v roscommon in an8 county tournament (fr. manning cup)

Certainly the last 4, not sure before that and defeated Dublin in them all. Hopefully yesterday is the start of something big for Kildare football

Beat Dublin in the 2012 final, but I'm fairly sure Meath beat us the final the year before by a point don't think Dublin took part, sometimes they do that
