| Here's an in-depth interview with Kieran McGeeney which was in the Examiner today. Talks about the finances, Seanie Johnston and Offaly. http://www.daraghoconchuir.ie/blog.php?id=2059As for the media hype, has that not been there for the past couple of years when Kildare have been rated genuine contenders? I'd say it was there last year. It's a non-issue I'd say. The major task is to treat Offaly like Dublin or Kerry and play them with the same intensity. That's why McGeeney is talking them up. It's as much as message to his players as anything else. | |

| Really good read that Ogie, enjoyed that. The one thing you cannot take away from Keiran McGeeney is his and the players effort to give us that one day to remember for the rest of our lives. The work done on and off the field that no one ever hears about is fantastic. Top man and Top group of lads.

In a pre seasonal OB cup match in Newbridge Sorry not been argumentive but thats a bit a far fetched notion Kildare will need to considerable up thier game from early Jan 2012 I will say your side of the draw , I would consider slightly more challanging in comparison to Ours , so the benefit may be drawn from here I predicted a LF win for ye if there is this improvement , but narrowly if the improvement is achieved

I was referring to last year's defeat by Dublin in response to a poster claiming that the back door had done Kildare no harm. Don't know where you got the O'Byrne Cup from. Re-read my post.

| Any word on the extent of Leper's injury? One of a few players we can ill afford to be without if we're to make waves this summer. | |

| No matter what way you look at it , it was a serious error of judgement by the Kildare management to isolate our most persistent fouler on one of he best forwards in the country in the last minute of a Leinster semi - final...I hope that they learn from this..... | |

| They seemed to have learned from it Tom, that individual seems to have dropped down the pecking order with the arrival of new players this year. A lot more options available for the backline this year compared to that game. | |

I disagree. I don't see how you can criticise our player when he didn't commit a foul. If you actually look at how Mac has performed in championship over the years he hasn't been too bad and if there's an injury in the full-back line I'd expect to see him in the shake-up.

I think its a bit harsh there Tom, he stopped a certain goal and was playing well. Also the tackle he made on OGara in the first half was as clean as you like and another free was given 20 yards out in front of the posts. If muppets like Cormac OReilly are allowed ref at this level what can you do. I seem to recall OReilly being the ref against Cavan for that backdoor game in Newbridge and gave about 10 kickable frees to them, most of them for fouls by Macloughlin. I guess he just dosent like his style of defending. He was marking a tricky little corner forward that day though
