Very enjoyable league final. Was impressed with Kirwan. The black card is like a lucky dip. Hard for refs and players alike .

When are the Championship dates & times likely to be confirmed?

The ones released last week were only a draft proposal, 1 week to go and some teams still don't know when they are playing!

Anyone any idea why there are championship games being scheduled to take place in club grounds , see games down for BME, Rathcoffey, Robertstown and EOCC, strange considering they’ve fixed hardly any games from outside hawkfield and newbridge other than a few in clane and the very odd one in towers?

From Moorefield perspective, we need to get the mentality right – it's what sets the team apart. But hoping Carbury debacle was a wake-up call. They are a bit like Mayo in that sometimes they need a gun to their head.

Think defence and midfield comfortably best in the county, but still a bit lacking upfront which contributed to Carbury meltdown. Having said that, Tyrrell in form of his life. If we had Ben McCormack you'd have to suspend betting but you can't have it every way.

In terms of pure ability, think Athy and JTB closest but not convinced anyone has the iron will, composure and tactical nous to overturn our boys in a scrap.

Naas are a total enigma.

Eadestown beating TMH comfortably is somewhat of a surprise too.

Saw 2 Intermediate games today..

Handy wins for Clocks & Leixlip..

Most notable thing was the brutal officiating...…….

In the first game the ref seemed to be doing his best to start a row and the second lad not much better...

A Kevins lad poleaxed a lad with a box and not even booked...…… Rob Kelly got an early yellow and a few minutes later flattened a lad after he had taken a mark, the whistle went for it and the lad stopped.. Rob just ploughed on.

Kilcullens performance today was so strange.. they played with only one and two forwards for the entire match, even with the wind in the 2nd half.. scored 1 point in each half. One a free.. what was the point in even turning up.

Well obviously one of the teams who top their group. Celbridge, Sash, Athy possibly. Would have been expected to meet those later.
