After yesterday's shoot out how do we see this going.

An away game automatically makes things more difficult, but we won there last year at the same stage so we playing there should hold no fears.

A lot of changes down in Cork, with a good few of their experienced players retired. But it's Cork and they have some brilliant forwards.
Watched a bit of them though v Westmeath and they were very poor for long periods. Only scored five points in the first half and took over when Westmeath ran out of puff.
Read on another forum that their might be a situation in relation to Walsh and Cadogen playing Sunday. Something to do with a Hurling challenge game. Maybe Igie could clear things up there.

Looking forward to it, all in all a decent chance to get another two points and nearer survival.

You would imagine it will be the same starting 15 - without Ollie Lyons who appeared to do the Hamstring again. So I guess Hank comes in for him, although Conway didn't do alot wrong yesterday when he came in.

He didn't look comfortable in the corner last year at all and had a terrible habit of turning his back to the ball when teams were attacking - he looks very good a wing back though. Thought he was excellent yesterday when he came on. Unfortunately there only seems to be one wing back spot available at the moment - so he battling Murnaghan for that.

Would Murnaghan be an option for the corner? He played well when pushed back in there yesterday.

I think that Murnaghan was directly involved in the build up to our last 3 points yesterday when he was moved out from playing deep.

Wouldn't think Murnaghan has the out and out pace to play in the corner.

Cadogan deffo with the hurlers I've heard. Conflicting reports regarding Walsh.

Can't see there being much changes from the last day. Lyons and Connolly maybe.

I read Shields is injured as well so they may now try to come to some sort of compromise re Cadogan. If they are down all 3 we would have to seize that opportunity to beat them.

Ollie lyons should definitely start. Tomas O connor also in the corner, and daryl flynn in for one of the midfielders, he still has so much to offer. Still something missing in our spine, mayo looked like getting in for goal just like meath did the previous week, everytime they had a runner going through. Backs were much more improved, but I still think we are missing something to hold the fort in centre back!

What we are missing is a centre back that is more defence minded, Bolton wandered up field far to often for my liking Sunday, he did the same 1st half against Meath, when he stays and minds the D our full back does not get as exposed. Glen Ryan at his best rarely passed his mid-fielders, he held the centre and set his wing backs and mid-fielders running. Inmo no 6 is the pivot, he cannot be too far up field and when the opposition attack down the wings he should always track back through the centre and be there for the cut in. That has always been my opinion of the no 6 position and for what its worth its based on watching Tony Hanhoe drag Tim Kennelly from one sideline to another back in the 70's so that Brian Mullins could romp through the middle of the Kerry defence

Ollie Lyons came off with a hamstring injury the last day and will be out for another couple of weeks.

Hamstring is at least 3 - 4 weeks, anything else causes more damage, anyway next game after Cork is not till 2nd March (Tyrone in Newbridge)

Think Ballyboy might be being a bit harsh on Bolton there. He was marking Higgins who was not staying put at 11 but roving all over the place. Was Bolton to leave him free to hold the middle?

One of the problems any centre back will have for Kildare is that our tackling from midfield forward isn't great so teams find it relatively easy to break the gain line and create overlaps which leaves the centre back with a tough decision as to whether to stick with his own man or try to stop the player in possession. If we improved as a tackling team in the forward line it would make the centre backs job a lot easier.

I'm sure there were a few forward passes that went undetected there on Sunday as well, and Cribben's foot trip on McLoughlin saved a certain try.

The Cork Senior Football team to play Kildare in Sunday's Allianz League Round 2 game at 2pm in Páirc Uí Rinn will line out as follows:

1. Ken O’Halloran (Bishopstown)
2. John McLoughlin (Kanturk)
3. Tom Clancy (Clonakilty)
4. Conor Dorman (Bishopstown)
5. Brian O’Driscoll (Tadhg MacCárthaigh)
6. Fintan Goold (Macroom)
7. James Loughrey (Mallow)
8. Andrew O’Sullivan (Castletownbere)
9. Ruairi Deane (Bantry Blues)
10. Mark Collins (Castlehaven)
11. Donncha O’Connor (Ballydesmond)
12. John O’Rourke (Carbery Rangers)
13. Daniel Goulding (Éire Óg)
14. Brian Hurley (Castlehaven)
15. Donal Og Hodnett (O'Donovan Rossa)

There are a number of changes to the team that defeated Westmeath on Sunday. Both Michael Shields and Tomás Clancy (Fermoy) are injured and will be out for a number of weeks. Tom Clancy moves to full back, and there are first senior starts for U21s Brian O'Driscoll and Conor Dorman, while Fintan Goold moves to centre back. Eoin Cadogan and Aidan Walsh are with the hurlers for the first time for the next two weeks, after which they will return to the football panel ahead of the game against Dublin on March 1st, and Ruairi Deane comes in at mid-field. Joining the forwards are Donncha O'Connor and John O'Rourke, while Paul Kerrigan is named in the substitutes.

There's good news for all Cork football fans as Colm O'Neill rejoins the panel, having recovered from a cruciate injury. Patrick Kelly, Jamie O Sullivan and Damien Cahalane continue to make excellent progress with physio Colin Lane and are on schedule with predicted return-to-play targets.

In the absence of Michael Shields, James Loughrey will captain the team.

Pairc Ui Rinn is in an area that doesnt suffer from flooding. Surface is quite good too. Lots more rain to come before Sunday but Id be very surprised if it didnt go ahead.

Cork full back line suspect. Im sure Goold is at CHB to curb the influence of EOF. That Cork team is very beatable.
