| Following up on Crofter's post above - 4 players played in the interprovincial against Ulster today - Paul Cribben and Eoin O'Flaherty started and scored 1-1 and 0-4 respectively. Kevin Murnaghan came on after 47 mins and Tommy Moolick after 49 mins - Moolick scored a point. Leinster lost by 4 points after extra-time. No sign of our latest recruit Paul Flynn! | |

| From KFMSport today:
Jason Ryan has confirmed that Emmet Bolton will miss the next few weeks training due to knee injury suffered v Cork...
Ryan also confirmed that Seamus Hanafin, Conor Mellett & Conor Canning have left the panel...
Some good news is Niall Kelly, Keith Cribbin, Peter Kelly & Eamonn Callaghan are all at various training stages in their return to fitness.

| Connor Mellet leaving the panel after five minutes of action makes the dropping of Rob Kelly look ridiculous.
The manager comes out looking a bit silly. You would have to question his thinking there.

| Baba, from what I was told Rob Kelly left the panel on his own decision to concentrate on work and is now part of the strength and conditioning team working with all the squads form U16 to senior and from what I'm told is very good at it also..... | |

| Who can blame Lads for leaving the Panel.. If there not gonna be in the Match Day Squads, and are basically there to add numbers to training sessions / training Matches, and they still put in the same commitment and effort as the rest of the Players.. imo their better of training / playing with their respected Club full time. | |

| So Seamus, you reckon the quality of club training/coaching is better than Jason offers ?
Players not in match day squads should play with club and on week-ends like that just gone they should all play club. Was that not one of the big cribs clubs ( some clubs at least) had with the last manager.

| It hasn't been said explicitly yet as far as I know lillyboy. I know some players who haven't been getting much if any game time played last weekend. | |

My post from last year re the above, don't know if any agreement has been reached. - Gaa1928 wrote:

- Jason Ryan was just interviewed on KFM. He didn't really give much away. Here were the main points:
- Another final trial game tomorrow night. - They are trying to give the players being trialled as much opportunity as possible and not just look at them in 1 game. - They are going to bring in players from trials to train with last years panel in December. - Some players being trialled might not make it this year but they will keep an eye on them and they could make it in the future or with the juniors this year. - Looking at ways of giving county players more club games. - Head S&C coach with a group of Kildare based S&C coaches (Brian McGrogan was mentioned) who could go on to be Kildare S&C coach in the future. Should have long-term benefits for Kildare GAA. - Players are currently being screened with regard to player welfare to find any injuries etc. that might need operations. - No update on selectors - should be able to make announcement in a couple of weeks.
Heard the interview, would agree with all of the above except the county players getting more games with their clubs, he was very vague on that subject and indeed it was the only question that he did not answer clearly.

| Kelf my point was that a Player who is not gonna figure with the County Team is better of with His Club full time.. Its nothing to do with what Jason offers, its to do with what the Club can do with that Player involved, ie training collectively with his Clubmates, working on game plans / tactics with the Team Management, generally working on things together in Club training etc.. He would miss out on this if training with the County full time.. Hope my point is clearer now. | |
