| I don't known if Ray Cahill is gone or not or what Clan O'Neill seen of him but let's not forget that Padraig Brennen is a selector and he must know Ray extremely well. | |

| Podge was our second top scorer after Eoin Fla last year. He only came off the bench for a few of those games. So Cian is on record as saying that it's a clean sheet which is fair enough. Podge has an injury and hasn't played any football and is dropped so obviously not a clean sheet. But the man has to do what the man has to do. | |

| Podge could be just told to get himself fit during the league months and he'll be reconsidered for the championship. We don't know. Let's wait for the squad announcement. Can't believe anyone would suggest letting Alan Smith go but it's all about opinions - that's why we have this forum. I don't have any beef with Cahill and I hope to god he's another Johnny Doyle although those come along about every 15 years in Kildare (we've had three - Carew, Tompkins and Doyle - in my considerable lifetime. I'm struggling with how Cian is supposed to judge Cahill (and the others) if not in the O'B Cup and training over the last couple of months. His decision - I was just expressing my observation on the Offaly match. I didn't see Louth and by the sounds of it I wouldn't think it fair to judge on that night.

| That's fair enough crofter. Just to clear it up. I'm not stated the Ray Cahill is in the same league as JD . I was just using the example. | |

Emmet Bolton ?. Whom ever it is needs to be a real leader and will need to be a regular starter imo.

| The fact that we're not sure who might be captain tell it's own story. I think that is a major major problem for this team they lack leaders. We have no real go to guy anymore. No one that is a household name. | |

Why Paul Cribben definitely not? Emerged as a real on field leader last year I thought ..

| I just think a captain should be an inspiring figure and very selfless. He should lead in an OByrne Cup game the same as he would in a championship game. His off field example should be as inspiring to his peers as his on field example. Someone that leads from the front. To me that wouldn't be Paul Cribben plus he too is very injury prone.

| Call me old fashioned but I always liked my captain in the centre back position if possible. | |

| Would Morgan O Flaherty be considered for captain he's not in there to make up the numbers and I was talking to Johnny Doyle a few years back and he said he would make a great captain? | |

| Was hoping Bolton would be captain at some stage. He's always one to show a bit of leadership on the pitch. If not him then I would be in favour of Paul Cribbin or Eoin Doyle. | |

| Morgan Flats gone too? I hope this is all bullshit... Yeah I'd have Eoin, Peter or Paul as my captain, I reckon Eoghan Flats will get it though...Emmet wouldn't be a bad shout either experienced play now and has led by example so many times before...Remeber Meath in 2011, Monahan in 2014 and there are more... | |

| Don't mean to be hard on Paul Cribben but I just don't see him as captain material I could be wrong. | |
