| Still no sign of the kildare championship going ahead this side of oct, do club players all over the county really deserve this? training since jan and this is the thanks you get. As for this new lucrative competition that is planned hahahahahahaha absolute joke. As the mighty "cha fitzpatrick" once said there aint nothing that beats playing for your club. | |

| Any update on this people? Anyone know what teams have entered, if their club has entered?
I imagine it will want to start next weekend, otherwise there'll be no point in running it.
I know club has entered it.
Anyone hear anything about it? |

| Yay..couldnt resist Fionn could ye. Get another dig in there!!! Kildarecat posts his (not the clubs) opinion on this competition and we have 4 or 5 people jumping in putting words in his mouth and getting the pops in at Moorefield. Fone has a dig about Moorefield running the county. Fionn has a dig about Moorefield wanting to play in Leinster. El Guerrouj backs up Fone. JME has a dig about Kildarecats opinions in unrelated topics Fionn posts the fixtures which we appreciate but signs off with another pop at Moorefield. Guys its obvious you dont like Moorefield but dont be letting it cloud your contributions to threads. How many threads have ended up with Moorefield bashing especially when there really was no need. Its really boring now. How Moorefield got dragged into this thread is beyond me. | |

| ah hear Sam, I was just saying that that the level of giving out had gone above what was needed.
KC I don't think is bothered as he gives as much as he gets which is good.
Lastly I have no beef with Moorefield now or ever.

I stated a fact Sam1928, the fact is Moorefield and Larries claimed to have players interests at heart when requesting the championship to be played, yet when a tournament organised for the clubs, they didnt partake. That is a fact. Its obvious that Moorefield and Larries have an eye on Leinster club championship, and fair play to them, their focussed at least. You really have a hangup about Moorefield, you mentioned them 7 times in that post. So what if people dislike them, like this Hill 16 fence on the 19 September, get over it. Your taking it very personal. |

Sam, I think you'll find my "backing up of fone" was an attempt at sarcasm regarding his ridiculous spelling and grammar in his previous post slagging off Moorefield. He edited it twice after my post so think the sarcasm was lost after that.

| ElGuerrouj..my apologies to you. JME...sound. Fone..I havent a clue what you say half the time but you are a legend regardless. Fionn...Not taking it personal. This goes back to the last forum also. Its just fookin' childish and ridiculous how you especially and some others take opportunities to have a go at Moorefield (thats 8 mentions in 2 posts). You mention "facts" about Moorefield (9 times) and Larries yet I see no source mentioned. I have no problem people disliking or hating other clubs but I think its a pain in the hole when threads are ruined or words are put in posters mouths (thats my biggest hangup) just so people can vent their own frustrations at The Moorefield (10 times, bonus points!!!!) club. Anyway there ye go. | |

AS All-Ireland fever grips Kildare ahead of their semi-final showdown with Down on Sunday, 29 August, the local club championships have gone into lockdown.
After a passionate debate at last Wednesday’s county board meeting (4 August), club delegates voted against playing a round of the club championships before the Down game.
“We have to be fair to 1,000 or so club footballers out there,” argued Moorefield’s Peter Whyte. “As preparation goes for a semi-final, there was the same preparation for the Louth game, the players were kept away from their clubs for weeks before that game and basically it was a disaster. Are we heading for the same disaster again by allowing this situation to arise?”
The Moorefield man was supported by St Laurence’s, the club that beat them in last year’s Senior Championship Final.
“There is no proof that wrapping players in cotton wool over the next four weeks and not letting them back to their clubs is any guarantee of success,” said the Larries club secretary Martin Heydon, who wanted a round of games to be played this weekend, 14 and 15 August.
That proposal was not supported by the county chairman Padraig Ashe.
“There are a number of injured players are the moment who would not be able to line out in the championship if it went ahead this weekend,” said Ashe, who also added that most clubs would want their county players for two weeks before a championship game.
“It would be most inappropriate of us not to give this bunch of lads (county players) the best opportunity of the success that is ahead of them. That is not being disingenuous to the other 1,000 or 1,500 players who are out there looking for football.
“As far as the county team are concerned, we all want to see them at Croke Park in full health to take on Down to give them the best opportunity to get to the All-Ireland final. That should be all our aims and all our ambitions.”
A round of club championship matches was played in Down last weekend (7, 8 August).

disappointing that less than half the clubs in the county opted to play some competitive football in the wait before championship starts again.

So you took it on yourself to judge the comments made by Peter Whyte and Larries to mean that they are self serving and that both clubs really just want to play in the Leinster championship???? Good man Fionn. Twist the comments to suit your arguement. Sure no point playing the championship at all. Moorefield apparantly have it won and want to play in Leinster and we all think that anyway. Sure look at the hiding we gave Kevins, who'll stop us.........oh wait a sec 20 clubs out of 42 entering these competitions I think speaks volumes about their worth.
