| lads lonergan and murnaghan ain`t suspended for the weekend so stop whinging and im pretty sure portlaoise were served with heavey fines for last year. ogie, lonergan in my view was a huge loss he is moorefields best defender his energy and toughness in the tackle is excellent, every time he goes in for a ball he goes for it 110% very intelligent on the ball too great all around player. guarentee ya morgan o sullivan would have been sotfened up a bit had he been playing | |

| Who is whinging centreback.Just stating that there seems different rules especially if you are from kildare.Just off the top of my head kildare v offaly subs incident.kildare v sligo twice. The incidents that carew mentioned during the week over the last few years. Why werent port banned from playing at home after last year. Are there 2 players that were sent off suspended for sunday i doubt it .Im only making the point that its about time the GAA started to make some consistant decisions for a change. It might be me being paranoid but when it comes to decisions we as in kildare seem to be rode all the time.roll on sunday .our lads will give there all and do the county proud | |

| Pity they have to give up the home advantage. It is crazy that things that happened back in 2007 could carry over to this year. Sure Moorefield probably have a good few new players playing for the seniors now that weren't even playing with them back in 07. Silly rules by the GAA.
Best of Luck to Moorefield on Sunday!! Hope they get a big crowd supporting them at it!

| Portlaoise will win easy. The addition of Hugh Couglan makes portlaosie very strong and at home they look too good for Moorefield.

| I'd fancy Portlaoise to win but they did struggle against Arles. They are prone to looking ahead though and I think they'd be expecting tough battle on Sunday. But if they do take Moorefield lightly, they'd be in for a shock, especially if the Moores get on top at midfield. But Jaysus they can't kick 15 wides | |

| Don't know why Moores should be afraid of Portlaoise. IMO they should win. They are good all over the pitch and can switch players around during a game to great effect. With Daryll Flynn returning it will only strengthen them further. Portlaoise will be good (afterall they have won 4 in a row) but why should any team from Kildare fear a team from Laois! They beat a team from a tiny village (that somehow has two senior teams!) with a last minute goal. Portlaoise will bring plenty of experience and Moorefield will have to improve up front but no reason why they shouldn't win. | |

| Sillycow u got a bit of stick on a previous thread and I stuck up for the minority!
Tell me this? were Portlaoise really the better team? I'm not one to harp on about refs but those first 15 minutes was like he was almost going to have sex with them, I wanted to walk out of the stadium there and then, and thats not joking! those 15 minutes won and lost that game, Paddy Murray rugby tackled, free ref? NO! Move on, Ciaran Kelly running through rugby tackled, free ref? NO!, move on Roli has a penalty shout, NO!,sorry move on, and each and everyone of those incidents led to a point from Portlaoise which allowed them to keep Moorefield at arms length
Moorefield played some wonderful football, 12 of their 14 points came from play for sillycow to dismiss a performance like that out of hand deserves my rebuke!!!
Oh nearly forgot, did I tell you? Moorefield player FART" move the ball up 10 yards, Moorefield player breathe.......

| Agree with you 100% kildarecat, the referee's performance was nothing short of shocking. Have we now got to the stage where when you ask a ref why it was a free and he has the power move it up, are referee's decisions now beyond asking for a reason as to why its a free and if you do so its moved it whatever distance he feels like. At one crucial stage in the second half, Davey Whyte went up and fetched a ball that had snow on it, his 2 hands in the air fetching the ball and 100% totally focussed on fetching the ball the referee blows him for a push in the back. That decision there just baout summed up the referee display for me, he was escorted off the pitch and rightly so.
Another incident where the ref got in the way of David Whyte in the first half as he was runnin onto the ball, which resulted in a Portlaoise breakaway.I wonder if Davy was looking back on that incident this morning is he thinking I should have just ploughed through the twerp, because i'm thinking it for him.
On the game itself it was an absolutely cracking game, better than some of the intercounty dribble we seen earlier this year. Huge credit to Moorefield at one stage they were 8 points down but they never hung the head, and they plugged away and and popped over the points. David Whyte, Roli and Flynn were excellent, Whyte is going to be a big player for Kildare in the years to come. |

| Even if the ref was a joke, Moorefield could still have won it. I agree the Kildarecat about the first 15mins were just unbeliveable. I heard some Portlaoise lads saying the same ref robbed them a couple of years ago... apart from the David Whyte catch the worse decision was thieir 2nd goal... Portlaoise number 12 fouls and ref waves play on, then ball goes out over the line and ref still does noting about the foul. Quick side line ball to number 12, goal.... and then the ref bookes him for the earlier foul??? Very strange....
Great heart by Moorefield... 14 points and 12 from play would normally win you that sort of game but credit were its due, Portlaoise are a very good side... David Whyte had another great game.. I heard McGeeney saying in an interview that he is the best County player on show in ths years Championship and I have to agree... Roli was once again brillant so hopefully he can bring that form to the county.. Kieran Kelly was one of his best games in a Moorefield shirt....
And finally, the support that Moorefield had was brillant...easly 2/1 out numbered Portlaoise....
Well done boys on a great year

Seems to be a trend forming here between Moorefield and referee's. Didn't these 'supporters' learn their lesson from Tyrrellspass?? Attacking referee's is what cost them home venue yesterday! I know the ref was bad, but he wasn't the reason Moorefield lost this game. Not by a long shot and even Jack Sheedy said as much. Winning the county final was a massive achievement for this particular team. The carry on of some people over the last week was rediculous, some even referring to them as a team of legends............ha ha give me a break. Anyway, hard luck yesterday. But move on now
