| Great performance from the minors today. Credit to the management team who had their homework done on snuffing out the longford threat from last year. The pace of the Kildare play was too much for the longford team to handle. Well done to all the players involved and good to see a number of the younger guys making a good first impression. Keep it going lads. | |

| As has been stated Farrell was excellent ... I also thought Hyland was very good. He had a good 1st half and in the 2nd, when management noted that Longford's 15 (McGivney) was their only real threat, they put Hyland on a man marking job.
Kelly looks lively whilst again as stated Coffey's free taking was good. His 45m had a few yards to spare!

| Well done to Kildare minors yesterday, lets hope the draw works out a lot kinder than last year. Was a good crowd at the game but would love see the whole county getting behind this team now.Without building them up too much. On a side note was talking to a man who was a selector with some of these players on underage Kildare teams and he was a very proud man got me thinking with out these people these players would not be there to entertain or give us as much pleasure as yesterday and last year beating the dubs. Well done to all | |

| The Development Squad system has already proven to be a success... puts a lie to the shit Sos Dowling was coming out with about lads getting their sons on teams etc a few years ago, which was really belittling volunteers' efforts in one fell swoop, and put a spotlight on one or two lads involved who happened to have sons that were good enough... there are a lot of people involved who wouldn't be known in the wider county. Of course they wouldn't be in it for the profile anyway because I know a few lads who could have carried on with lads to minors and preferred instead to revert to the start again. They get some thrill when they see products doing well not just at minor, but the likes of Fionn Dowling, Podge Fogarty and Tommy Moolick coming through to senior. Take a bow lads. | |

| Very impressive display by the minors on saturday. Their work ethic was fantastic from start to finish. All of them contested every ball right to the finish despite the fact they were cruising on the scoreboard. Thought their organisation and style of play was very similiar to seniors.
Any word on the lads that went off injured ?

| With the break for the leaving cert - he will surely only miss the quarter final - would that be right? | |

| Kildare will play Offaly in the Leinster minor quarter final on the 14th of May. The game will be played in Tullamore. The winner of the game will play away against the winner from the quarter final game between Longford/Wicklow V Dublin. The draw for the Leinster M.F.C. Quarter Finals in full is 1. Laois v Louth
2. Meath v Wexford
3. Longford / Wicklow v Dublin
4. Offaly v Kildare
Semi-Finals : 29/06/2011 5. 1 v 2
6. 3 v 4
Final : 10/07/2011 7. 5 v 6

| Kildare have had some draw this year, Leinster Champions in the first round, away to Leinster finalists in the 1/4s and probably away to the dubs in the semi final.

| What great reward for wining your first game - two away games, surely First round winners should at least have home advantage - another example of the GAA and their inability to organise a PISS UP in a BREWERY.

Em, there's six first round winners. They can't all get a home draw?

| All very quiet on the minor front.
Offaly have turned out fairly decent teams in the last couple of years and I'd expect they fancy their chances against us. However, if our lads come anywhere near the performance against Longford, especially the first half, they should win.
Wish them the best of luck on saturday and hope we get a decent turnout to support them. .

Now I am well able to complain about the GAA but this is just looking for something to complain about

| OK then - somebody explain to me the idea of the first round in the Leinster MFC.
Explain to me what advantage it is to any team to win this first game.
It is a complete joke that having beaten Longford already in the competition - we could potentially have to travel to Pearse Park in a Leinster semi final, and if we loose that game we are out of the tournament, while Longford progress to a Leinster Final.
A Leinster final which incidently if they loose they are still in the All Ireland series.
So one team can potentially loose two games and progress - while another looses one game and is eliminated.
OK so looking for home advantage is not feasible with 6 first round winners, but the structure as a whole is a farce.

| I agree Flourman the whole minor championship is a farce, why should one team have two chances to lose and another none. | |

| Tom, I was not discussing the Senior championship structure, my comment was on the Minor championship structure. I fail to see the relevance of your comment. | |
