The bottom line is they love hurling in Kilkenny and nothing gets in the way of that.
Things have obviously changed a bit since back then so if the photo above is anything to go by. I see the poor chap is getting more than his fair share of publicity now; http://www.joe.ie/gaa/gaa-news/our-favourite-gaa-picture-of-the-year-so-far-0025374-1

| I was actually talking to the Kilkenny full back last night. Sound fella and is actually a good footballer. But no interest in training etc. He is mad out too. | |

That's the true spirit of junior football. Good to see Kilkenny adhering to ethos of the GAA!

| firstly can i make it clear that im all for the junior inter county scene being kept on. it gives lads who fall short of intercounty standard a chance to wear the white jersey and can also develop future kildare players.
but lads FFS some club games off this weekend and other clubs had to do without players not released from junior panel. Is there any more ways our senior club league can be degraded by at this stage?? by all means give the Leinster junior championship a crack but that can be done without changing/weakening club fixtures.
every year club leagues are slipping in standards for a variety of reasons such as emigration but it is not being helped by the way it is cast aside by the senior and junior county panels. we are basically telling club players "play away your 12/13 league games there as quietly as you can and wait for championship . . . whenever that may be"!!!!!! my own club is probably 6/7 players worse than three years ago yet are more than holding their own in the top half of the league.
club players are at the bottom of the food-chain and interest is being lost by everyone!!

| It's gettin to a stage where I wouldn't be too upset to see kildare knocked out early just so we can get championship started. | |

| It's gone beyond a joke alright, I know of a few club teams that are struggling to field teams in the SFL and getting only 9 or 10 lads down at training. Lads are losing interest and I don't blame them for turning their back on GAA.
Jimmy I wouldn't go as far as to say I'd like to see Kildare knocked out early to play the Club Championships but something seriously needs to be done.

| Would have to agree. Junior championship should not be allowed take from the club scene. There's no junior championship in Ulster and even Dublin didn't bother with it this year. Enough is enough as its not even a feeder to the senior team this year due to the rules change.

| I know there are a lot of lads on here who attend the County Board meetings every month.
Can someone clarify for me is there any allowance made for the Kildare Junior management team to request that players do not play with their clubs, because it is happening and the players aren't playing or are very reluctant to play.
As far as I was aware there was an agreement made with the Senior panel which does not cover the Junior panel.
What can be done about it? |

| There is a 7 day rule for the Junior Panel i.e. they can play with their club up to 7 days before a junior championship game, thus they were not available last weekend but as far as I know most games went ahead without the junior players | |

| Be interesting to see if or how much Early plays. Be a good indication as to how much he will play for seniors this year. My feeling is he will play most of game tomorrow night as the senior squad should have ample cover to deal with offaly. Another full competitive hour might do earls no harm. Hopefully they can overcome the 1st of two local derbys this week . I hear there is one or two starters from Kilkenny game un available tomorrow for one reason or another | |

| Great nights entertainment. Any time you beat Meath is a good result. Standard wasn't wonderful but the comeback & some of the refereeing decisions (which were comical) made for great second half. Fair play to the management for making the changes that kick started the comeback. Wonder if Dermot doesn't feature on Sunday will he be used in Leinster final v Cavan. | |

| Great result. Well done lads. The Meath GAA fraternity are well and truly hacked off at this stage and they're up in arms on all sorts of sites over the whole hoodoo we have over them.
Keep the wins coming lads.
