| Very frustrating listening to it on radio anyway. Was waiting for them to click into gear but didnt happen unfortunately. Barry must go is right but maybe they are as not as good we conceive them to be anyway. Some great talents no doubt but we may take the blinkers off now | |

| no selection issues for geezer now. i think these lads are really talented and mr barry just does not have the where with all to bring out the best in these lads. competitive game for the biffos may have being the difference though | |

| Very VERY disappointing result AGAIN. Barry needs to be shown the door now, but then he should've been shown the door 2 years ago!
And for all those out there who assume good underage club footballers should be automatic choices for senior inter county. It's time to wake the f**k up!

| Lads I said it in an earlier post. These lads are good footballers, but when they are blown up beyone all proportions you can sometimes start to believe in your own hype.
I don't like being overly critical on young lads, they've been training long and hard for this.
On the night they were simply not good enough. Big slow and lethargic around the middle and half forward line. Same failings that effected our senior side the last few weeks until Meath - slow cumbersome building from defence. So easy to defend against and way too predictable. We seemed to be a yard or 2 slower all over the park. Our tackling was poor and we carried ball into Offaly tackles who knew how to tackle. Turned over way too much possession.
Substitution of Darroch Mulhall summed the direction in way football seems to be going at underage in Kildare at the moment, a lad who has a bit of class and can make something out of nothing making way for yet another big strong forward with no pace.
7 point showing from what was discribed as a class forward line will not win any football game.

| Three-year contract extension for the manager! In fairness did the Offaly minors not lose Leinster finals in 2010, 09 and 08 possibly? | |

| look lads its like this Alan Barry is probably a nice guy and did everything he could as a manager but the written was on the wall after the second year.To me he did not serve his time as a manager at club level, you gain all the experience you require at this level. ie: the way players think and play. you need a manager thats being there and done it, then only will you get the respect from the players that is required to win championships. I blame the C.B. in not doing this from the start and leaving no stone unturned to find the right person or persons to do this and not just putting anybody in to please people. | |

Have to agree with you on most things Fionn. Feely scored 2 points do that leaves 5 points from the forwards. They had no direction. First 3-4 balls to the full forward line were into Forgarty. Won them, was surrounded by 2 Offaly lads and not an other forward in sight. When they did get it, they worked it back to the 45' or further... It was frustrating and then it crossed the field 3 or 4 times and it ended up loosing possession or giving away free's... When Feely ran at them at the end of the 1st half, we scored a few points. Ref. was really whistle happy for both sides. Mulhall picked up a very easy yellow and in fairness I could see what it was for but that was him for the remainder.

| To misquote Forrest Gump, talent is as talent does. We can't describe these lads as talented until they go and prove it.
Bottom line is that the better team on the night came away with the win- and were possibly entitled to win by more.
Fogarty looked a threat but was forced into the corner too much to win ball. When it did arrive in central areas, he was forced to catch it in a standing position and got bottled up too easily as a result. There was no ball that he could attack and lay off to the supporting runner. Come to think of it, there wasn't many supporting runs either.
Frustrating night overall but Kildare didn't deserve it.
On a side note, Anton Sullivan is a good player but he seems to draw a lot of aggro on himself. It worked for him tonight but it might not always...

| Disappointing result tonight. Apart from Fogarty the rest of the forwards were coming out too far in my opinion. Any time Fogarty got it there was nobody else there to help him. I wouldn't have taken Mulhall off so quick.
I was surprised Fionn Dowling didn't take the last free with his left foot. No offence to McGovern though, I thought he was one of our best tonight. We'd plenty of chances towards the end but it just didn't happen for us. Time for fresh ideas with the U21 set up at this stage.

| It would seem that A Barry was being shown the door but the senior manager insisted he stay. Seems the u21 is an unwelcome distraction and the senior manager preferred an u21 manager he could manipulate | |

Cian Bolton for Darroch Mulhall in the first half Fionn Dowling for Tommy Moolick mid point of second half David Hyland for Barry Egan Daniel Flynn for Cian Reynolds Mickey Kelly sending off was very foolish. He'd just been booked and he foot tripped Anton Sullivan off the ball. Agree with a lot of the previous posts on the poor forward plan. Fogarty was left isolated on his own for long spells and much of the ball in left him having to run into the corners to win possession. When he did win it the support play was very slow in getting to him. I was very disappointed in the half forward line. Moolick and Hurley (who were outstanding Minors) looked cumbersome and slow while Cian Reynolds never got into the game either. There were few bright spots apart from Feely, Fogarty and Donnellan who made a great first half save.
