| SeamusMurphy
Maybe supporters are nervous after last year in Parnell Park. Home advantage might suit us and I am looking forward to going. Expect a good crowd.

| Would agree with you SeamusMurphy it's unbelievably low profile for what is a Leinster SemiFinal on our home patch v DUBLIN. Can't help but feel the general malaise after the senior outing v Meath is having an impact. Whilst some might say this low key approach might suit us (instead of the usual over hyped expectation) the lads deserve our support as they have been committed to this for weeks and through the leaving cert. So come on all true lilies let get out there tomorrow and cheer on our potential Leinster Champions. | |

| See its 5/4 Kildare and 4/5 Dublin with Kildare +1 in the handicap with Paddypower. The bookies are looking at this one as being a close call. Hopefully the lads can make the final. Best of luck to them. | |

| Just back from it. Battled gamely but the best team won. Just didn't have enough but it must be said that looked an impressive Dublin team. | |

| Well lads, just dont know how to describe that defeat tonight, alot work gone into this bunch of lads over the last few years and great credit has to go to them and there mentors for there commitment to the cause, BUT have to say there were a million miles off the pace of the Dubs tonight.......it pains me to say this but serious questions have to be asked into the type of player we're producing, the methods of training we are doing with these players and also is it time for a new man at the helm of our minor setup........some of the Dubs players were outstanding and they were able to play with a freedom and off the cuff sort of football, where there natural talent was allowed to flow, on the other hand, we were rigid in our play, more set form of tactics, playing to a plan and never seemed able to change our game plan when needed. Very disappointing night for these young lads and there mentors, but sure we live and learn.......hopefully......!!!!!!! | |

| Are we trying to manufacture players or what is people's opinion. Did we buy into the northern way of doing things with our strategys and not being able to adapt during games. As someone said above dublin were able to express themselves tonight . Our lads both at senior u21 and minor seem to be very ridged in our style. Only an opinion | |

| Totally agree OTB. Very one dimensional and no natural flare. Only our keeper was so good I was a cricket score. | |

| Fair play to Dublin, much the better team all over the pitch tonight, really impressed by whoever was playing at 6, 11 and 15 for them.
Apart from Heaney in goal we never showed up, like has been said above if it wasn't for him God knows how bad it could have been, made at least three top quality saves.
Too many aimless balls into the forwards, lads seemed to be kicking it in without even looking up to see who was available or where the movement was coming from. A lot of time our forwards got on the ball they were left isolated and got crowded out.
Disappointing after an impressive first half, looked to just have no answer once Dublin started running through the middle from midfield and half back.
Kelly and Brophy kicked some fine points each but Dublin were just that bit better, looked to always have an extra yard space and an extra few seconds time on the ball to pick a pass and make a run.
Some good work has indeed been done at underage level in Kildare with the development squads and that, we just need to find a way of continuing it once lads reach minor and under 21 level.

| Went down this evening, they are kids, fair play, they owe nobody anything, hope they enjoyed season long campaign, they should be admired... As for bigger picture, too many reactionaries on here, lose and abuse and so on. Bigger question , Dublin have x5 at each age level and have x8 to train them, now what do we so, genuinely. | |

| In fairness, that was a serious Dublin team, the support play for each other was very impressive, our lads looked way off their level, I would never be too critical of the young lads but from that evidence alone its hard to see any future senior prospects, possibly the goalkeeper as he prevented a landslide, the scoreline could and should have been even bigger, 4 clear goal chances and a penalty missed by that Dublin team. Geezer was in the stand, wonder what he thought? | |

By Jaysus that is some statement, coming from you, considering what you wrote on here after Donegal game last year. Hypocrisy thy name is .....

| Hard luck to all involved. You could clearly see how much they were gutted at the end, and in fariness they all tried, a lot of tired bodies on the pitch after the game also. Hard to know where it went wrong!. Dublin do look like a serious outfit and I was impressed with some of their forward play, thought 13 and 22 showed well (penalty miss aside). I also think the Dubs had their homework done. I know Dessie Farrell was at the first minor game in newbridge, in which young Wayne Fitz had a great game and kicked some super points. Last night that number 2 followed him like his shadow, he snuffed out a lot of ball going to him. Credit for the effort, and hopefully the lads that are still underage come back stronger and wiser (dont forget a lot of that team are only 17 and even 2 under 16 on the team), and for lads that are over age, they keep working hard and make an apperance for the U21 in a couple of years and that they will then wear the white at senior level. | |

| No point in slating the team who were totally outclassed on the evening ( in front of a very large Kildare following I might add ). The Dublin forwards were super and skillfull particularly 13 who was a joy to watch. It's great to see players like that in Newbridge.
This is the last time that I am going to make the following point. The coaching structures presently operating in the Kildare schools are a complete and utter waste of time. The present set up of the development squads are a waste of time. If Kildare football is serious about making improvements and winning underage titles ( and I am not completely sure about that ) , then they must disband the existing structures and bring in outside coaches ( working along with Kildare coaches ) to develop underage football in Kildare. If not , the future of Kildare football is very bleak and not the fault of Brian Murphy or Kieran McGeeney who can only work with the players coming through who particularly lack skill and flair.
I actually was worried for the future of KIldare football after last night. It it was not for our goalkeeper , we would have been obliterated.
I know that I will be slated for the above but after years and years of very very limited underage success in Leinster or the country , something must be done and done quickly.

| I know that lads might want and deserve a rest but anyone know when the club minor championship will start now?
another question, in the three games they played, would anybody have figures of actually how many of the squad (I think there was around 38 lads) featured. I dont know if poeple would aggree, would the lads who dont feature not be better off back in their clubs, or is there a good reason for carrying a panel of this size??

| I spoke to one of the panel earlier in the week and he admitted that it was very hard to keep the focus. They had been training twice or 3 times a week with trips away nearly every weekend and the wait between the last round and the semi was too long. Overtraining could be a problem. The panels size is too big.Is there any realistic chance that No. 30-32 will ever get a chance of a game. I relation to Tom Cruises mention of Development squads, i was at a Bord na nOg meeting where it was mentioned that ALL the under 17/18 team consisted of players that had been on the Development squads for the last 3 years. This got universal approval and praise for the squads. It was only later it occured to me that this seems to mean if you don't make the under 14 squad your chances of being a minor in 4 years time are slim. Are we missing out on players that mature later. | |
