| we can blame the county board and it is up to them to control access to Hwkfield etc. But we all know on the ground that the Geezer contols the shots. They seem to bow to his every request. | |

That's why the county executive (As against the board) is to blame. They're supposed to be calling the shots. Any manager is going to get away with what he can for his team. That's why you have committees at club and county level.

That's a very clear indication of the progress made. They wouldn't have gotten that invite before - well sure, they never have. That will be a very, very high standard.

| The 14s are in Carlow this Sat with 2 teams competing against Wicklow, Wexford, Laois, Offaly, Carlow and Dublin. The lads warmed up for this with a great workout against Kerry last weekend. | |

| U/15's have beaten Sligo and Armagh comprehensively and play Limerick in their final match. It should be noted however that both sligo and Armagh have 2 teams on duty here today. That aside for lovely football from the young lillies | |

| Another good win for the lillies against limerick, after a slow 1st half they really kicked on in the 2nd period and ran out deserving winners , kicking some fine scores | |

| Just some scorelines lads from the u15s today in Hawkfield ,
1st Game :Kildare 4-13 Sligo 1-01 ,
2nd Game :Kildare 3-12 Armagh 0-2
3rd Game Kildare 3-11 Limerick 1-02
some great scoreline lines from the lads, as Lillyboy noted Sligo and Armagh split there squads but Kildare used all there squad with most lads getting equal enough game time over the three games and still won out comprehensively each time.Well done to the lads and the mentors.Heard today that Kildare now move on to a National Final in October anyone have any info on that??

| Was happening to be passing Hawkfield this afternoon and saw a really sweet U-15 Kildare team. Some really nice play up front, impressive full back line and a good midfield helped by having good sized players down the middle of the team. Spoke to one of the selectors after and they had to name a panel of 24 players so there were another few lads not even togged but still with the squad today. Was really impressed by them and the manner they conducted themselves. Well done to all concerned both players and mentors..... | |

Did U/14s play Dublin ? To answer your question Tom - No, Kildare didn't play Dublin because Offaly had already beaten them and one of the Kildare teams (2 Kildare teams split 50-50 were in attendance on the day) hammered the same Offaly side later in the day. In fairness to your question - I know what you are getting at. Dublin also had a team at the other Leinster U14 blitz in Athlone so maybe they were stronger than the team they sent to Carlow. For now there was nothing Kildare could do about that as they were put in the Carlow blitz. They did very well against Kerry the week before and will Tipperary and Cork shortly. On the day it should have been Kildare v Kildare in the final except for Offaly to beat one of the Kildare sides in the semi final by a point with a penalty 5 mins into injury time (in a 30 minute match!). The other Kildare side then put the Biffo's in their place winning the final on a scoreline of 2-11 to 0-4..........again this was a 15 min a side match. This seems like a talented bunch.............but four years is a long time. The encouraging thing is they all want to play for Kildare and they are not afraid of hard work so please god with a bit of luck some of these boys could be a great addition to future Kildare teams!

| Good post White bridge, that sums up what the dev squads are about. Sure its about developing the playing skills etc but its more about creating the "want" in the young lads to play for Kildare, to go home and work on the skills and to realise that they can compete with the best . | |

| Seems to be terrific work being done at underage level in Kildare at the moment. Lets hope we can appoint a proper manager who can get the most out of them at minor level and finally win a Leinster title. Be a terrible shame if these young lads dont get the chance to prove themselves at the highest level. Nice to have something positive to talk about after the Cork game. | |
