]Its hard to see Intermediate Clubs agreeing to having to win Intermediate Championship back to back before going Senior
Clubs should be able to prove they can maintain form for two years in a row and if they are not capable of this they have no reason to genuinely aspire to compete at senior level At least after winning two titles in their own Grade the inevitable tougher years would be easier to take

Playing football for years with the club the only reason to have a squad was to have numbers at training because come championship any club manager would only use his 15 and at a push 2 subs and its still the same now clubs managers dont trust and never did trust club players beyond that to make an impact. Micko did it for years here with Kildare.

The amount of work that goes into winning a championship is colossal, to ask a team to do that for 12 months training etc and then be asked to do that all over again to get any reward would be totally unfair.
As that stage to speed everything up just go straight to the semi - finals with Moorefield, Sarsfields, Celbridge and Athy and get on with it.
Only 2 clubs have won the senior championship in the last 8 years so slightly unfair the single out the Intermediate champions.

Good game in Hawkfield to finish up the 2nd round of fixtures. Clane the most improved team in Kildare. Athy play the nicest brand of football in the county but too open. Sarsfields and Moorefield would have punished them with a couple of goals. Clane need to kick on now with a win over Castledermot and make the quarters.

Very good game of football last night between Clane & Athy.Clane were unlucky not to get anything out of that game. Very good side. Athy will need to improve if they come up against the likes of Moorefield,Sarsfield or Celbridge later on in the championship
Really enjoyable game in hawkfield last night. Niall Kelly excellent for Athy scoring 7 points. Clane are a coming team and to me look more likely than Naas to make a breakthrough over the next few years.
Looks like the big 4 will top their groups now and avoid each other until semi final stages.
Has anybody heard anything re what the plan is from next weekend on?
Are Inter and Senior champs paused after this weekend or will they play qtr finals before stopping ?

I’d say they will pause all football championships from this weekend to allow county players to prepare properly. Club hurling to take centre stage now for the next few weekends before Co. League resumes in October. Championships will probably conclude once Kildare are done

The county board should make an announcement to let players/supporters know.
Surely if the county players are going back training next Monday they would have been informed by now.
