Kildare v Tyrone NFL Div 2 Final 29/4/12

Just thought id mention something about the tg4 seo spoirt show on friday night. I happen to catch the end of it where the panel were asked to give a verdict on the the Tyrone V Kildare match. When it came to Jack O' Connor to give his opinion he barely strung to sentences together about us and said something along the lines of " Kildare yea there training".. gave a cheeky grin laughed continued on and said "but ehh Tyrone have more "natural footballers" so im going with a Tyrone win.
Not that we need Jack O' Connors approval but I am sick of pundits and media out there throwing that one liner at us. Maybe Jack O' Connor would do well to remember that we are the top scorers of this years league both in Division 1 and 2! We got rid of our goal drought and scored 9 goals and 105 points for god sake..that some going! and we have also curtailed our wide account.
We have being the top scorers of the championship over the past few seasons and Johnny Doyle has being one of the top 3 of the scorers of the championship. Coming in at No1 in 2010 and no.2 in 2011. Is it coming from ald lads, pundits and media who have had this idea about us for donkey years but have never looked up any statistics to back up their claims?
I hope our forwards dont pay much hed to them and go out get their shooting boots on and let the football do the talking.

Only one way to disprove those theories. Tomorrow is the day. Carpe Diem..

we need to target quinn in corner back for them, isolate him inside with either smith or kavanagh and that would lead to goals tomorrow he is very weak in the air and jimmers would clean him in there if we could isolate them inside

Heard a rumour that Chalky isn't starting tomorrow. Don't know any more but that he wouldn't be starting....

Great defensive display in the first half to hold Tyrone & got forward and took their own scores.

Took a while in the second to get going but when they did they were bril. Podge was great.

So well done all ( even if it kills a Biffo to say it !!!!)

Fantastic to beat Tyrone in Croke Park. It'll be a huge boost to the confidence of the team knowing they can beat one of the top ranked teams in the country. Delighted for Fogarty to come on and kick the points to win it for us. Looked a top class player out there. Leper made a huge difference to us. Lots of breaking ball snapped up by him and all the lads. Took a long time to find the gaps in the Tyrone defence but we kept going and took our chance in some style when it was there to be won. Sky is the limit fore this squad.

Delighted with the win today and the way the game was won, no nerves when the finish line was in sight and calmly finished off the job in hand, a good sign of learning from past experience. Congrats and well done to the players, squad and all the background crew and management, well done one and all on a great team effort.

Good win. Only a Div II title but it was there to be won and we kicked on when we had to. Backs were much tighter today and we played the smarter football out there which was very encouraging to see. Full forward line found it tougher against better quality backs so still a bit to work on there but Fogarty showed that we have options in that department.

I doubt Mickey Harte will be losing any sleep over the match but it was a good run out and it won't do the confidence any harm. Onwards and upwards - roll on Offaly.

A hugely signifigant win, had we have lost today, the doubts about our ability to get over the line against one of the big teams would have been there again. This win should give the players an extra but of confidence going forward. Roll on the summer!

To all those who ridiculed myself and others at the start of the year when we wanted to see some of the U21's get a run I have just 2 words for you, Podge Forarty!

Jaysus so excited I even got his name wrong. Wonderful to see us hit 7 in a row. This could be the start of something great this year.
