| If we win Sunday am I right in saying that it will be our first Senior Intercounty football national trophy since 1928? | |

Either did I till earlier on. I'm beginning to think this is more important than a lot of people are making out. Its gets the 'beating a top team' monkey off our back. National trophy. Set us up nicely for giving Leinster a rattle. I reckon a win here will do wonders for this team.

| Tyrone Team V Kildare
J Curran; A McCrory, C Gormley, PJ Quinn; C McCarron, P Harte, D McCaul; A Cassidy, C Cavanagh; R McNabb, M Donnelly, S Cavanagh; O Mulligan, N McKenna, S O'Neill.
Obvious danger men in the forward line of Cavanagh, O'Neill, Mulligan.
In the back line Harte a centre back will cause untold problems if allowed to run at teams.
Conor Gromley v Tom O'Connor (if starting) will be an intriguing battle.
In our half back line I would ask the question of who is going to pick up Sean Cavanagh.
He has a serious engine on him and can be a huge influence on a game if allowed to do so. Is Emmet Bolton, Morgan Flats or Flanagan the men to pick him up, I'm not so sure. He's very good in the air also and will be a target for their kickouts.
Its hard to predict the match ups. Hank v S.O'Neill , P.Kelly v O.Mulligan, where would that leave Ollie? Niall McKenna played midfield for Tyrone u21's, cant imagine Ollie will be picking him up.
The match ups in the backline are not that straight forward. What are peoples opinions? |

| A win on Sunday sets us up perfectly..I feel we will do it too..its going to be tight and scrappy I feel but if we can contain their runs from deep from the likes of Harte and also get olly flying and smith and jimmers on top form I can see us beating them..
Carew may be saying in the herald its not that important but I think inside they are saying the total opposite..I think Leper needs to play..we need his ability to win dirty ball around the middle..

| Sunday will be a tough ask but we definitely have it in us to win. Every single player will have to step up, unlike the last encounter with Tyrone where we had a passenger or two! Mark their runs and impose our own game on them. It will be a thorough examination of our backs these Tyrone forwards are amongst the most potent in the land. The heart says a 2 point Kildare win. The head says a 2 point Tyrone win. So maybe a draw on the cards? | |

Really dont think Flano is suited to this game at all with runners coming from everywhere, a backline of pace and trojan workrate is needed. smith would be a good option from the bench if he doesnt start, heard he is playing well again. be very interesting to see what shape they are in after last week.

| Will be interesting to see what lads will start,as there is a lot of talk of fringe players been giving a go. Think my self it will be the same line out that was against Galway, with a few position changes | |

Huge surprise to see Gary White starting! Spot on taibi. Foley in d middle with o neill. Wonder will this be the starting team at all. Hardly risk chalky with so little game time he had this season so far. Your man Conway taibi will need to be a lot tighter this time round against Tyrone. Thought there centre back done serious damage in the 1st league game against us. I'm sure geezer and Mickey will have it addressed.

| IF Flynn and Leper are unavailable to start then putting White in makes some sense to me. More mobile than Flanagan and more physical than other half back options. Will be interesting to see if he will be picking up Cavanagh as I can't see Bolts or Morgan doing that. Loss of Flynn would be a killer as moving Foley out from FB disrupts the whole team. I don't see McGrillen as a full back and Tyrone very strong in full forward line. Loss of Leper if true another disappointment for me. We seriously need to get one of our 3 top midfielders ( if not 2) back in action for championship. Hope this is just the team for the programme. | |

| Did anyone see what Geezer said about midfield play during the week. Basically said that catching the ball is no longer what it's about and while the likes of Dermot, mcDermott etc were great at that, if that was all they could do they wouldn't last two seconds in the modern game.
I'm guessing with Chalky it's about the match-ups and his distribution would be better too. And talking about Mikey tracking Harte is a misnomer because he won't be on him or it certainly won't be his job to track him. Because Harte won't really play centre-back anymore than Morgan does for us. He'll be the free man but it's Kildare's job to make sure he is never free and I presume someone is assigned to that role. Who knows, it could be Chalky. You'd presume someone does it with Morgan too, although his influence isn't as obvious as he doesn't bomb forward to score goals and points like Bolton does. He starts a helluva lot of moves though.
Looking forward to this. Not too concerned about the result although it's easy for me to say that. I want to see how they stand up. I want to see them conceding less and apparently they worked on that in Portugal. What is interesting to see is that whatever they do to address that, will it detract from their potency in attack of late?
Tyrone do have a lot of injuries though and while you're there, and when you're a minnow overall in terms of achievement, as Kildare is, you want to win something. This might be a chance but I honestly don't know what way it will go. My gut thinks Tyrone marginally but given how often that's been wrong, that might be good news for the Lilies.

It's ALL about the result for me. First National title since 1928 ffs, how much longer do you plan to wait? You're obviously younger than me. We're not Kerry ffs. We really need to beat one of the top teams in a match of consequence and the next opportunity after this is probably Dublin. Beating Tyrone could be the missing piece of the jigsaw in terms of giving this team the confidence to go with their application and commitment. Carpe diem lads, seize the day! The wait must end tomorrow.

I put a wager on them right after the Monaghan game to win the Division 2 final. For some reason I believe we are going to lift silverware tomorrow..fingers crossed anyways! COME ON KILDARE!! |
