| Hurlerbehindtheditch I see Kilcullen who were too good for Div 4, got beaten by Cappagh last night. Each team are in their respective divisions because of their finishing position last year, so everyone is where they deserve to be | |

| Division 1 is working very well. With 2 rounds left everyone has something to play for apart from Clogherinkoe who are gone. Only 3 points separate the top 8. and Castledermot Raheens and Leixlip within 1 point of each other in the battle to avoid the second relegation spot. |

| My club asked the co board to change the game this week when the fixtures came out as the players are away, The county board said at the time for us to get on to the other club involved to sort it out which they did now because its tight at the top of division 1 the other club backed out saying that they have to play it on the Sunday but move it to a later time than 2, now the co board want all the games played at the same time so no one gets an advantage. What really annoys me is that these lads already paid for the trip away now they have to fork out €80 each to fly home earlier to fulfill the fixture which they asked to change 4 months ago. Disgrace. | |

| I can't understand how fixtures can't be given out a number of weeks before. Finding out on a Monday when there's a game is very unfair on players and management especially the lads doing shift work and others trying to plan a holiday. That is a disgrace steviegenius but I don't expect any differenent anymore. They have sorted the competitiveness in the league divisions but the fixture situation is still a complete mess. Any one know when the semi finals are to be played for division one and if county players are available for it? Thanks | |

| Steviegenius, the league rules sent out at the start of the year stated that the last 2 rounds of games all have to be played same time. There is always league games in June/early July so booking trips away is a bit foolish IMO. You book that running the risk of a clash so I'd say tough shit.

| Good man umpire thanks for that. As i said the club got the go ahead from the co board and was agreed with the other club involved a few months back to change the game that is why the trip is going ahead so it that tough Shit? Are the club or the co board going to pay the players back with the €80 that they will be out of pocket? | |

| Up until Sunday night/Monday morning, this weekends games were fixed for Saturday at 6, to change them at such short notice is extremely unfair on players and anybody involved.
99.99% of players much prefer to play on a Saturday evening, why this can't be accommodated by the fixture makers is beyond me, especially the last two rounds where games must take place at the same time.

| Well SteveieG if you got the go ahead from co board then that's a different issue in that they reneged on an agreement with yourselves. that's a separate issue. I just think if you are commiting to playing senior football, fair or otherwise as it may seem, you have to factor in that there will be important games around this time of the year in the league. As far back as I can recall specifics but leagues tended to finish up July, Oxegen weekend always seemed to be a bone of contention for players.
If you book trips away you have to factor in that you could miss a game as is your right. But booking a weekend away before fixtures announced and then giving out is a different story.
But if you got the understanding that Co Board gave go ahead to change then you have a fair issue. Maybe whoever in co board didn't realise that this was the 2nd last round and the rule that both last and second last rounds have to be played at same time. |

It ur club has a copy of the letter requesting the change and of the Minutes of the County Board which agreed it, then you have a great basis of appeal to Leinster................ but if the "agreement" was just a verbal one with an official ??????????????
