| So Naas, Moorefield and Celbridge through to the Div1 semi finals.
To be joined by either Carbury ( 12 Pts ), St. Laurence's, Confey or Athy ( all 11 pts ).
Carbury play St.Laurence's in the last game.
Athy play Celbridge and Confey play Castledermot.

| Any good reason these league games are being played on a tuesday? Not really fair on lads who have to travel from dublin down to south of the county | |

| Yeah that's it until championship. In the height of summer there will be no football for these lads for minimum 5-6 weeks. Joke! | |

Or expanding number of league games in a competition that matters but can be played minus intercounty guys...

| Straffan bet clane by 10 this week. What's that about? Are straffan an improved side now? Where are the 3 clane lads who were on the Kildare minors in 2015. | |

| Said it at the time that this new format would cause ructions. But some posters were all about the "more competitive games". That worked out well..
My own club has 7 starters gone abroad for the Summer, struggled to round up 15 players for TMH game on Tuesday. I know a few other clubs are in the same boat. Clogherinkoe are getting kicked off the pitch every week too.

Even in the old format lads going away for the summer would have the same impact on clubs...whats different ?? 8 teams in Div 1 with no games for 6 weeks have something to grumble about while other clubs in Div 2 - 4 have another 2 games to play but they will have 3 -4 weeks of challenge matches once the league finishes

| Spot on Lomond, Its not a surprise to teams that the break is coming. It happens every year. Plan around and have your challenge games lined up to coincide. It Clogherinkoe are getting kicked around every week then they don't belong in Div 1. That's why they get relegated. Div 1 came down to the last 2 rounds to decide the four semi finalists and at least 50% of the teams were in with a shout with a few games to go. That has to be a good thing. Its easy to moan and blame the new format but if lads want to go away for the summer the majority of them will go even if there is league football to be played. | |

| How can people be giving out about the new league format. Division 1 has been very competitive as said already with basically all teams playing for something up to the last week. Division 2 and 3 have nearly as many games as other years and it has been competitive. There is always going to be one or two teams that struggle in a league no matter what the format. All players want a break after the league and with this format it allows players get away for holidays. The last thing players want is a league running straight into a championship with no break. 15 league games was too many this format worked very well. Maybe start the leagues a week or two later or have more breaks during it. It's never going to be perfect but this year was a big improvement. | |

Top 2 in div 2 and 3 are promoted and play in the league div final.. bottom 2 relegated..I assume it's the same at the bottom of div 3.

| Possible 6-7 week "break" for 8 Division 1 teams in the height of Summer, and that's assuming Kildare go out at the QF stage. Come on, lads, that's crazy! | |

| The break then allows teams to prepare in an organized fashion for the championship. There needs to be a clean break between league and championship also for grading purposes. In order to close the gap you could start the league 3-4 weeks later, move the pre-season cups until after the league or introduce a summer league for teams who are want to play (optional participation). Otherwise clubs just need to be organized and set out a program of games. There is plenty of advance notice so no excuses not to plan around the break. | |
