Kildare V Mayo

Well it was one of the toughest draws certainly but we'll know now how far this team have come in the past few weeks with the two wins.

I feel Mayo are certainly there for the taking with injuries mounting for them, only problem is, this game will not be in Newbridge unfortunately!.

Surely it'll be on in Newbridge? Don't see why it wouldn't. For what it's worth we should also ensure that Mayo get their minimum entitlement of tickets

Think due to the capacity and the amount of season ticket holders Mayo have, they will have to play it elsewhere. Id assume portlaoise being the alternative.

Official capacity for Newbrodge is 6,200.
This game could easily attract 15K, especially given how well Mayo are supported all over the country.

The CB should fight tooth and nail to keep it in Conleths to give the lads every chance but I can see it getting shifted to portlaoise.

Stuff Mayo's season ticket holders, what's that got to do with us, not our responsibility to look after them.
If Longford are able to have their home games in Pearse Park surely we are able to hold ours in Newbridge.

Absolutely agree with this. If we can do it we should do it end of story. Critical we keep home advantage and keep Mayo supporters out if required

Were it not for that flukey goal we might well be playing Tipp. Mayo are beatable but their way of pouring through to pick off scores is tailor made for our porous defence.
Seriously if we could sort that we would be a match for any team outside the top 4.

It's high time Kildare beat a half decent team. It's put up or shut up time for this team and management.
There needs to be a win at all costs mentality and horse into them, if Kildare were to win it could be the making of this group of players.

Ye we can talk about tactics and positional changes all day long but unless there is more intensity and tightness at the back we're going to struggle against most teams. Same again Saturday night on so many occasions, loads of bodies back but nobody tight

County Board MUST fight tooth and nail to the point of boycott to have it in Newbridge. Will be on Sky so anyone can get to see it if they can't get in.

Management MUST do their job and find a way to shore up the defence.

Players MUST realise this is their one and only chance to live up to their billing from minor onwards. Either you have it or you don't lads.

This is the day seize it.

Back to the County Board -- make this a cauldron -- put on a party... have Curragh of Kildare played on a loop for an hour beforehand. Better still get Christy Moore playing live.

After last week end surely we can show a bit of pride and horse into these f~ckers and put them to bed once and for all.

Oh and Paddy Brophy... six points... 2014... you must have that performance bottled somewhere? Uncork the damn thing.

For me, cauldron or no cauldron (and Mayo are well used to cauldrons), the key question is - are Mayo 6/7 points worse than they were against us in the league? Probably not. And are Kildare 6/7 points better than we were against them in the league? Maybe. But we really need both of those to align on the day. And we need to learn the art of tackling in a week.
