| I think in the last few all stars awards they picked 2 goalies 6 players for the full back 6 for the half back 4 for midfield and so on and picked the players out of that and the GPA I think was a players vote but with the GPA and the all star awards in one what will the procedure be now? | |

| I can see us getting a couple of nominations alright, but realistically only Mick Foley deserves one. Bolton and McGrillen may get the nominations but can't see them winnning one this year.. | |

| Maybe I am mad or something but what did Kildare do to deserve any All-Stars???? Do people here really reflect on the season before shouting out who should get one????
Mick Foley is a genuine contender, although if there is a stand-out performer in the full-back-line on Sunday, I would be very surprised if he got it.
Nominations sure, but genuinely think about it.... and not through Lilywhite tinted glasses....
I can't see McCarthy displacing Karl Lacey. He deserves it.

| GaaHead, in case it escaped your attention, it's an individual award, so there is no reason a member of a team who produced 7 competitive championship performances should be precluded from winning one. Taking your logic to the full extent, I presume you would just give the 15 All Stars to the All Ireland champions? Besides you go on to contradict yourself by saying Foley could get one, so what is your point?
Anyone who cannot see the merit in Mick Foley's performances an consistency over the full campaign start to finish, and the worthiness of at least a nomination for him, has not been watching much football this summer.
Who is the McCarthy you are talking about? My mind has gone blank

I can't see McCarthy displacing Karl Lacey. He deserves it. You forgot to say after all this............ IN YOUR OPINION ONLY! Everybody is entitled to their own and We don't have to agree with the local hacks. Theres an awful lot of Kildare supporters who know a hell of a lot more about the game and the players than some of the guys who have blown into these parts in recent times. Everybody can see that Mick Foley is our best hope of an All-Star, many have said that and many more hope we might get an additional All-Star. Your opinion is that we are not entitled to an All-Star on this years showings. Our opinion here is that we are entitled to one. End of story!

| Right, not what I think they'll be but as I've have them after that oddity of a final and a year without a real standout team and without a lot of standout players, so much so that I've only filled in 14 places. For last one not sure whether to put Kevin Cassidy or Bryan Cullen in half-forwards and move Darran O'Sullivan into corner, to put Bernard Brogan or Colm Cooper reluctantly into corner or look outside the semi-finalists to a Donncha O'Connor or Eoin Bradley.
1. Stephen Claxton (Dublin) 2. Michael Foley (Kildare) 3. Rory O’Carroll (Dublin) 4. Neil McGee (Donegal) 5. Kevin Nolan (Dublin) 6. Karl Lacey (Donegal) 7. Keith Higgins (Mayo) 8. John Doyle (Kildare) 9. Sean Cavanagh (Tyrone) 10. Paul Flynn (Dublin) 11. Ben Brosnan (Wexford) 12. Darran O’Sullivan (Kerry) 13. Alan Brogan (Dublin) 14. Andy Moran (Mayo) 15. ??
Dublin 5; Donegal 2, Kildare 2, Mayo 2; Kerry 1, Tyrone 1, Wexford 1;

| Something of a lottery. Think McGee of Donegal will get full back and hopefully our Mick in the corner. Can't see Doyle getting midfield, will probably be McAuley and Sheehan. Think golden child Brogan is nailed on for no 15. Cooper could still get in ahead of Moran but Mayo will feel aggrieved if they don't get any after reaching semi. Their keeper might have had a shot but Cluxton's winner today will mean he gets it i'd imagine. Higgins may get one I guess. Weird year where very few players were consistently brilliant.. Alan Brogan, Foley and Lacey spring to mind but few others were consistently on top of their game | |

| Sunday game team :
Cluxton M. O'Se McGee O''Carroll Cassidy Lacey Nolan Sheehan Doyle ! Darren O'Sullivan Alan Brogan Flynn Gooch Moran Bernard Brogan
Honourable mentions for Mick, Hugh and Emmet. Kerry bias from Spillane denied Foley a full back line position I'd say.
Fair play to Johnny
Hope Mick joins him on All Star team

| There is absolutely no way MD McAuley should get an All Star.
Describing him as a work horse is insulting to work horses. There is zero footballing ability in him what so ever. He was just another body that contributed to Dublin defensive system.
He was super fit, but then again so is Moses Kiptanui.
The Dublin midfield were continuously cleaned out throughout the year, hence the 21yard kickouts.
I see 4/5 nominations for Kildare. Bolton, Foley, JD, McGrillen and at a push O'Connor. |
