| Where would you put them townend? Apart from Kilkenny the rest of the teams in Leinster are competitve.
You can't exactly turf them out either, that would be like the EPL throwing out Wigan because they are shite. It's the Kilkenny CB's responsibility to make them better.

Lets be honest, Louth are hardly footballing aristocrats either. Kildare hurling is 10 times more competitive at any level than Kilkenny football is. What's throwing them out going to solve? I agree it would take a monumental effort to transform a hurling mad county into taking football seriously but that's what the CB is there for.

| thats my point as you said kildare hurling is 10 times more competitive than football level in kilkenny yet they put kilkenny into the under 21 championship.
the same you wouldn't put kildare out again kilkenny in nowlan park and theres more hurling in kildare than there is football in kilkenny

the same you wouldn't put kildare out again kilkenny in nowlan park and theres more hurling in kildare than there is football in kilkenny It's a straight knockout competition and for one match they're still entitled to enter the competition as there isn't the equivalent of a "B" or "C" competition at Under-21. Kildare play in the Christy Ring for that reason that they are not good enough to be in the All Ireland proper. In Kilkenny if you ever pass through in daytime you'll see the school going one's walking around with Hurleys in their hands 24/7. They eat drink sleep it and fair play. For those who want to play football at least they have a better chance of wearing the county jersey. In the Leinster Club Football, the Kilkenny Intermediate football winners play in the Junior Championship and likewise their senior winners play in the Intermediate Club Championship. Look at Tipp. a hurling stronghold, who'd have though they'd lift the All Ireland Minor Football title....

So you feel Kilkenny CB are wrong to enter the competition ( They s:hould not put then in; were your words or close to what u said)
The few Football clubs in Kilkenny ( and one or 2 are just Football) want to compete/play in Leinster.
The problem goes back. The old story is that when a Kilkenny CB Sec was asked if he wanted some free football his reply was that the only use he had for footballs wasfor sharpening knives !!!
Anyway Kildare v Biffo's next. Now the Biffo's might not be great but will relish a crack at Kildare !!!

| Kildare should have too much firepower with Fogarty, Dowling and Mulhall as a possible inside 3 and Moolick, Reynolds and Hurley as the half forward line ...Serious threat there ... Great chance of winning a leinster with lads like that in your forward line!! | |

Kildare will beat Offaly.

| Jesus I would not go into this game cocky, we have had enough shock defeats in recent years and I know Offaly have high hopes for this crop. If we're fully tuned in we should win. If not we will be beaten. | |

| Offaly have had decent enough minor teams in recent years so they'll be a good test. They won last night with 14 men for over half the match afterall.
Who'll mark Anton Sullivan?

| Wont be easy at all. I wouldn't be a mile of when saying Offaly have a better pedigree at minor over the last few years than we have. They've played in maybe 3 of the last 5 or so Leinster finals. | |

| don't think there will be that many at it , why did they fix the game for gracefield so if they though that it wouldn't hold the crowd they though meath would win it i'd say | |

| This game against Offaly will be no push over. I think our lads will have to hit the ground running Offaly after beating Meath will be on a high so hopefully we will come through. | |

| I wouldn't think its Anton Sullivan who just needs watching, they have other good forwards in Craig Guilfoyle and Bernard Allen. It will be a very good game but if kildare play to what they are capable of they will win.. | |

| Offaly had a good minor side in 2010 who should have won Leinster but probably got a bit cocky when playing Longford in the final as they had beaten them easily in the preliminary round. Kildare were also unlucky that year to lose to Longford after the 3 matches against Dublin. Definitely a potentially good team but hopefully they will remember the minor year and what could have been. Be nice to win another Leinster and give some future senior players a winning mentality. Btw is Eoghan O'Flaherty the only player from 08 who is a guarenteed starter for Kildare in 2012? | |

That's still Gracefield KFSAM, Portarlington is just the name of the town, half of it's in Laois (Portarlington GAA) and the other half is in Offaly (Gracefield GAA). As it stands at the moment the match is still on in Gracefield (on the Tullamore road), so parking will be a mare of there's any sort of big crowd, if it does get moved it'll more than likely be to Portlaois unless it gets switched to the weekend to be played in Tullamore. - murof wrote:

To be fair to them in 2010 I wouldn't have said it was down to being cocky that saw them lose to Longford. Longford apparently had a completely different team after losing to them in the first round, compared to the team that played in the final. They've a good record at minor level over the last few seasons but just haven't been able to carry it over to under 21 or senior level at all. The bookies, and probably many neutrals will have us as favourites for it. It won't be easy by any means but it's if the likes of Moolick, Feely, and Hurley etc are on form then I'd fancy us to come out on top, just.
