The dreaded cruciate struck again in this game. Adam Phelan who has been on the development squad and was selected on current minor squad ruptured his ACL and is out for min 9 months.

i heard that four lads from our club made the panel

Yeah, they're bringing back all the goalies that attended the trials for separate training. Good idea, as if you aren't particularly busy in a trial game it could be easy to be overlooked.

Exactly, a keeper might not have to do anything in a trial game except take kick-outs so its a good idea alright.

I heard the Minor panel final trial was on saturday and the panel was cut again?

A lot of players get overlooked in trial games in my opinion. I really think u need 4 trials to get a good look but I suppose there are player availability problems.

Any news on the VEC Teams next match?

Trials were held for those not involved with dev squads and then a mini tornament between the VEC, the u/16 dev squad and 2 teams made up of u/17 dev squad plus those that got thru the trials.

The VEC have gotten a walk over from Wexford and play a minor selection on Sat

Well done to celbridge minors on winning the leinster minor title that eire og run. Beat eire og by 9 pts in final. Fair achievement and shows the standard within county to be very good.

Is that two Leinster minor titles in a row for Kildare? Think Athy beat Na Fianna last year in final too. Bodes well.

True but I know celbridge have played top Dublin teams in challenges recently and won all when fielding full team. Young athy team competing at business end of senior leinster championship too. All in all they are great signs sunny

Kildare VEC play Louth on Sat in Hawkfield @ 2 pm, should be a good match Louth only lost by 1pt to Meath who have dominated this grade for the last few years
