In all seriousness he is a very good footballer but who thought Mick Foley would win an All star 4/5 years ago.

That was a dark day alright we got a good beating ifmemory serves me correctly. Hard to believe the transformation since then. O'connor strikes me as an old style full forward who were big and strong and hard to knock about. Very effective player for us now and is a serious weapon to have. Just hope we don't try and over utilise him by pumping every ball we get in long and high

Thinks that's the key. Like all target players, teams tend to put two men in and at times that happened last year.... If it doesn't work well with two men covering him we should always have a corner forward loose..... That's how you exploit them.... A few times during the Donegal match long ball was pumped in and he was covered by two or even three lads.... Then we need to be able to change our tactics... McGeeney can be slow to do this....

To be fair a good percentage of ball played into O' Connor is out to the wings where he uses the bit of space and plays the ball into the on rushing player. He rarely fumbles any passes that he gets out to first and usually finds a man in a better position.

If he brought a few more scores into the game he could be a serious threat at full forward, even more so than now. What you do get now is a lad who is at worst a major handful for a full back and at best a match winner.

Good to have that in your team.

I think Tomas is one of the best players in the county, fantastic leap like nothing ive ever seen before, great athletism, blistering pace, strength and a vary unselfish player. Although at times I wish he would take his own score as he is well able to kick a point and makes acres of space for himself, and one of the best men I've ever seen to hand pass the ball over the bar.

If you remember back to the Donegal match I would attribute our loss to Geezer taking him off. Regardless of the goal, Donegal had 3 men around him all day but when he was taken off the whole thing opend up and they went man for man and proceeded to score 1-3 in the next 10 mins.

O'Connor has been very good, 1-3 of our 1-11 came from O'Connor setting it up or been fouled. I remember looking up at one stage on Sunday and Dublin had two back marking O'Connor on his own and a 3rd guy sweeping in front. Basically leaving us 12men against 10 further up the field. He also doesn't give up on lost causes either. like you say if he could add a few scores or if the support is quicker we could easily get a good few more scores.

Honestly I didnt see it , but something had to ignite the situation for it to end up they way it did with a mass handbag gathering , if what was describe was the case , i most certainly wouldnt condone it, and IF there is a case to be answered , I am sure the CCCC shall address it like they did in 2009 i think with the Dublin v Meath parnell O/B meeting , there was alot of unsavoury incidents by bot teams i would notagree with but , are we expecting the game to go soft or are we right to expect a bit of cut and trust and continue to have our game to be played more manfully , in saying that there is no room for cowardly off shots , in short both teams were no shrinking voilet Sunday Wink its unusally for "samson" not mention it in his after match interview Laughing , there was alot of needles niggling between both team , i put that down to the occasion , this apparent psychological elimination barrier which was supposely banished , you would be deluded if this is the view , as both teams where not the teams we expect to see in the league or championship , i just hope you havent peeked to early for you as supporters are concerned. I intend to watch it via TG4 at some stage , so I shall get back to you after this if you prefer

Have to say now seen it ,and there is no excuses , it was a cheap shot , the pictures on TG4 are damming , like i said i dont condon it Embarassed there it is hawker like i promised , but would others be so honest here if the boot was on the other foot , very few Rolling Eyes

TAIBI my answer to you + 1 you are over exerting the focker gene with great effect ?? Wink

Best of Luck on Sunday with retention of the O'Byrne Cup , have a good day ye all Surprised

Yea the match is in Newbridge Sunday. The way the draw worked out originally the winners of the other semi final were meant to have home advantage but colleges can't have it at home, for capacity reasons I presume, so now we have it in Newbridge.

They will probably have to wait and see who is available first going by the argument between McGuinness and Moyna this week!!

The fact that they have Sigerson on Tuesday might mean that their team would be significantly weaker than normally. Or am I hoping against hope?

I hope UCD have a full strength team, what will we learn from turning over their b team? We need a good competitive game before the Tyrone match.

It would be even better if DCU have a full strength team. Very Happy

There was a Song and Dance made over beating Dublins C team , so whats new Laughing , I would say DCU will be a good competitive game before the Tyrone match , its keeping Kildare momentum rolling Rolling Eyes , so bodes well , I would say Kildare shall beat Tyrone Away , so it shall be a good start , Clones v's monaghan will be tuff , but achievable , Meath are in trouble , so a win in Navan , Derry in another difficult asignment even in newbridge but also achievable, Louth in Drogheda will be another win I would expect and Westmeath another win in newbridge , Galway in Tuam will be another tuff ask , but achievable so all things going to plan a Div 2 league final to coast you into the start of the championship , busy times ahead.

I see the Leinster CCC have requested a copy of the video of the Diarmuid Connolly / Ciaran Fitzpatrick incident which they expect to view later today.

Apparently it wasn't mentioned in referee Kinsella's report. So it appears that the yellow card was for the subsequent incident with James Kavanagh and they can deal with it.

Hawker must have been expecting a weakend DCU team and lumped on Kildare -4 at 3/2 with Powers.
