| Midfield is still a major issue with this team. We just can't seem to win enough contested ball around the middle. When we do break even against teams naturally it helps both the backs and the forwards look better. We competed quite well for the bulk of that match and our kickouts were decent but Laois got their run on us when we lost a handful of kickouts in a row. Moolick looked a bit rusty when he came on which is understandable. Hurley's loss has been as keenly felt as Brophy's so far this year. For all his faults as a footballer he was rarely dominated in the air by his opponents.
I presume Daniel Flynn was carrying a knock tonight? I would have thought he was an obvious substitute when Niall Kelly was taken off.

| Delighted with the win tonight. No better man than Bolton to be there when you need someone to come good in the last few minutes.
Thought Ciaran Fitzpatrick was Man of the Match. One of our best players. Couldn't understand why he wasn't starting before. White did well too.
Not sure why Fionn Dowling can't take the frees when we need a left footed kicker.
Some unexpected subs at the end but what a finish to the match. Always nice to beat Laois.
Roll on Galway! | |

If 2 teams finish on the same number of points the it goes the head to head result. If more than 2 teams finish level, it goes on score difference.

Thanks JohnnyC, makes the Galway result today more important, in case more then 2 teams finish on 6 points, i.e us and Galway, maybe Laois or Westmeath.

| Great to get that result last night. Well done boys. Lots to do to avoid going down still but we are well capable of staying up. It shows where we are when we're all delighted to survive for another week at least . | |

| Delighted to get a win, and good to see the lads fight back from what looked like a definite Laois victory.

| GAA website definitely shows match next week in Tuam not Salthill. Throw in 3 PM. Sean Hurson (Tyrone) as referee. Has anyone been to Tuam for a match before ? Suspect facilities won't be on a par with Pearse Stadium? | |

| Listening to Killian Whelan doing an interview after last nights game and he mentions that one of the Goalkeepers pulled himself off the panel during the week after being named in the squad.
Doesn't sound good for team morale.

| Heard the same about Daryl O'Brien but he was out there last night. Didn't pay attention to which keepers were out there. These things happen on many squads - it happened under McGeeney with Fogarty to name one - and can be just an individual issue. Any one got anything concrete on this? | |

| Hard for sub keepers as they are unlikely bar injury to get a run. Donnellan seems very much 1st choice and both the other keepers have been the number 1previously. Perhaps a chance to bring Colin Heeney up from the 21's or would Shane mcnamara also celbridge be ahead of him.

| Galway beat Roscommon 1-14 to 1-10 after being 1-8 to 0-4 behind at half-time. They had their Corofin players back as well. Not good for us but I still think if we win next week we'll be unlucky if we are relegated. | |

| If we win by 4 points we are safe by my reckoning (Galway currently 7 points better than us). Assumes WM don't win by 18 points next week.. | |

| Or a draw if Laois and WM both lose :-)
Given that we haven't beaten Galway since the '80's that's a good fall back option and we drew there on Easter Sunday in 2012 we'll all remember.

| Tuam stadium as they like to call it makes conleths look a proper county ground.not the nicest locaton for a stadium either, parking in Newbridge is probably easier. | |

| Aside from the thing about the goalkeeper, 3 Kildare players who were named on the programme last night were sitting in the stands and not near the subs. Rumours of more going on behind the scenes than we know. | |

The plotten thickens. Wasn't that partly because Niall Kelly was in the team but not named in the program and Cathal McNally on the bench but not in programme.. As for Daryl O'Brien if he is pissed about lack of playing time in his first season at this level I'd honestly tell him to trot along... that kind of attitude will get us nowhere.

| Anyone know what the story was with Daniel Flynn last night lads? Injury? Illness ? Something else ? Didn't see him on the pitch at all. | |
