| Thought it was strange to see him back around the panel after leaving it earlier in the year.. surely that screams commitment issues.
One of our many issues at the moment .. Carlow by 7... as the week goes on it gets worse

Not only did he leave once, but he had left twice and was still brought back.. And has supposedly left again!

| Would rather Glen Ryan over Liam Kearns any day. Who ever our next manager is he needs a strong backroom staff... | |

| Some players you have to put the arm around and bring them with you . Sometimes the better players need this kind of approach. Some of these lads are quite young and have a lot to learn .
But they need to learn it quick . Your footballing career is over in the blink of an eye , no point on looking back when you're ripping 40 with regrets .

| In fairness they give up a lot of their life to play for Kildare, not excusing any performance though, they need to play a hell of a lot better and give more. | |

| Want to pose a question, what would the reaction be in Kildare if we went for a Fermanagh style of play? do we have the players to do it?
In my opinion we need to start again from basics, hard work and stop opposition scoring and I think some of the players would not do this as they think it would be below them ...

| Don't think it suits our players Micky (mind you, neither does attacking football).
Funnily enough, after Donegal victory over Dubs in 2014, J Ryan tried to go with a counter-attacking style the following year. Very ineptly, of course.
I'll never forget – in the first league game against Down that year, at one stage in the first half, we had 15 men behind the ball and – I'm not making this up – they still scored.
Showing the resolve for which he was famed, Ryan abandoned the system after that game, which led to our triumphant relegation to Div 3 and humiliations against Dublin and Kerry that summer.
We actually had the right idea against Carlow – but we were too hasty in attack and left ourselves to open on the counter. The whole thing reeked of a team who went through the motions and said they were "prepared" – but not in that 100 percent bulletproof way you need to be for championship.
But Christ knows as Kildare supporters we are well used to it at this stage.

| I remember talking to a few Kildare players around that time HG and they were convinced that aping Donegal’s game plan would work in getting them over the line v Dublin, failing to realise
1. Our players didn’t have the exact same skill set as Donegal 2. Dublin were bound to learn from that defeat and not get fooled by the same truck twice..

| They actually got 2 wins which is the stuff of dreams for us at the moment. They held Armagh to 7 points and those are the guys hit us for 1-18 I think last summer. Not saying we should go down that route but we could learn a lot for the way they operate their defense and how hard the work and tackle. We scored 1-10 against Carlow, would we come close to that against Fermanagh? At the moment our team spirit, teamwork and tacking is miles behind teams like Fermanagh and they are no where near good enough to win an AI. It's some reality check from this time last year. | |

| What I mean is that we need to get back to basics like Fermanagh have done and build from there, I think a lot of people including players, management and supporters think Kildare are way better than we actually are and to me stripping it back to basics means commitment, spirit, fight, desire, dedication, workrate, putting body on the line etc. etc. all of these phrases are missing from CON at the moment in my opinion........... the best managers and sports people will always say you make your own luck through basic hard work...... | |

| I’d we could even match Carlow’s attributes as regards tackling, teamwork, work rate etc I’d b be happy. Never mind looking to a team in an Ulster Final.
Every aspect of Kildare’s game and management needs uplifting. It’s quite depressing and nothing short of a shambles after the progress last year.

| Fair play to Dermot O’Reilly!!!
At least he had the bottle to raise the matter. It seems to me the county board meekly accepted the defeat to Carlow in the same way as the team did!
At least someone has expressed the sense of seething rage!

| Halfway through reading it and I was cheering him on... Thank Christ someone's speaking out on behalf of the fans.
Donnelly came back at him with a load of guff, but fair play to Reilly, glad there's someone in there telling a few home truths.

| Incidentally I heard Tommy Callaghan didn't hesitate to give O'Neill a piece of his mind after Carlow match. Fair play to you Tommy, maybe if we all keep pushing we might finally get through to team, management and county board how utterly unacceptable this all is.
