| Lads i'd say by and large most refs allow the proper time to be added on in games, one of the biggest problems that i see is that team mentors, phisio's and club officials are spending more time on the pitch than some players......any kind of contact nowadays and players are rolling around as if they have been shot...................... gone are the days now, that if you did get a clatter, a player would'nt want his opponent to see that he was hurt...............to much cotton wool footballers.... | |

That is a fair summary of the game.No doubt you need a bit of luck to win a close game and we got it at the end. Overall , I think that we probably deserved to win and would be kicking ourselves if we had not done so. We have lost so many games to Moorefield in recent years and we were delighted to win yesterday.Roli going off was a loss to Moorefield and I sincerely hope that he is ok.Daryel Flynn looked to be carrying an injury as well.
We have Athy in the next game and that will be a very tough battle so we are not getting carried away by any means. Yesterday was not a knock out game so ye can regroup and are still the team to beat along with your neighbours. You summed it up perfectly Tom but I sincerely hope Carbury don't treat the victory over Moorefield as a cup final? Same attitude and bingo!

Confidence or Cocky??? Moorefield will miss Roli..... He was the difference between the two teams in the League Final and when he went off Sarsfields came back at them but was too little too late..... Towers will put it up to them in the middle..... Only benefit Jason Phillips could slot in Centre Forward as he is playing great football this year...

Agree, theres too much time been wasted in matches with lads going down with harmless enough injuries and referees are too accomodating to these players. Play should always continue unless its a serious head injury or if the referee feels its serious enough to warrant the game been stopped for 3-5 minutes.

| Saw the Leixlip V Towers match and there was 7 minutes of injury time. The ref didn't stop it for lads to tie their laces... 2 injuries did take up alot of time but at least it wasn't the usual 3 mins. As for the faking it and going down easy, your all right. Let the physio come on and treat the players and the game goes on. The only time it should be stopped is for a blood injury, head injury or collision of players during the course of a match. The Rule Book States:
1.5 INJURIES (a) Injuries: General - Play shall not be stopped for injury to a player, except in exceptional circumstances to enable a seriously injured player to be treated on the field or removed from the field of play. All other Injuries shall be treated off the field of play.
Unfortunately there are very few ref's that carry this out but it would be good to see them put this in use and you'd see alot of lads getting up and carrying on.....

| The reason for 7 mins in Leixlip v Towers game was a serious injury to Lxp player who was taken off in ambulance and an injury to Lxp keeper so obv can't continue game w/o him.
Lads, it's all well and good saying players shouldn't be going down as easy and play should only be stopped for serious injuries, but if play is allowed to continue when someone goes down how is the ref supposed to determine if it's 'serious'??

| What a complete load of shite. I'm tired saying - the only rule that's needed in most cases is common sense! Yet incredibly the GAA officials continue to tell referees that there's "no such thing as common sense". It's very easy for a rule book to say stop a game for blood injury or he'd injury. But the weekend just gone saw Ronan Sweeney go down clutching his arm. Many people claimed he was faking - but it turned out he'd broken his arm badly enough to require surgery. Is a broken arm less serious than a cut to the head?

| Was at the Sarsfield Celbridge game on Sunday , thought young Caoimhin McDonnell had a great game, he also featured well in the league final. Presume he is u21 next year? Sarsfield seem to have a good mixture of youth and experience and i expect them to be at the business end of the Championship.
Celbridge appear to lack quality forwards and thats what nearly caused them the championship in 2008. Playing Brophy, Lyons and McGrillen is unfimilar positions coouldnt help. O Sullivan appears to be a big loss.
